Author's Response: Indeed! They're getting closer even though Spike tries to keep distance between them. We all know how good he is with doing what he thinks he shouldn't. ;)
There are more dreams and Spuffy interaction in the next chapter as well. Angelus won't make a physical appearance for some time since other things need to be resolved before he does.

This is an odd question, but how does he feel about her? He's blatant with innuendo but he's got to know she's underage. Is he conscious of wanting a sexual relationship with her or does he just flirt because he's Spike? I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I had to ask.

Author's Response: It's not an odd, nor a question. :) It's very vaild, actually. Buffy gets under his skin and he's intrigued by her, pulled to her despite not wanting to be. The issue of Buffy's age actually comes up in the next chapter. He suspects she's younger and realises he should avoid her but he can't help himself. He loves making her blush even though he feels like she's too good for him. So it's more like he fights his attraction to her, the pull he feels towards her. Not as much due to her age but more because of how innocent and good she is. In UK, the age of consent is 16, so it's a bit different than in USA. :) Hope I didn't confuse you with this! Yes, yes I would try to grope Spike. And I think Buffy may want to, too. I love all the crazy mystery and the flashbacks, and the attitudes these two, poor hurt individuals keep showing. They are so far from knowing what is really going on, and so close to spilling something that may just help each other, it is brilliant to witness. She is probably remembering things because he's there to prompt it, and I want her to make him tell her. Two people so focused on avoiding each other wouldn't keep bumping into each other if they weren't meant to. Awesome, suspenseful, and I am ready for more! Update soon!

The old lady could hardly resist trying. ;) And Buffy, well, she's too stubborn to admit she fancies him but hey, he hasn't helped with the way he acted. But maybe that makes her like him even more (and against ehr will). lol So awesome that you love the flashbacks! I have to admit I love writing them since each tells us a bit more about who Spike is and what he's been through. They could figure it out together if only Spike wasn't so determined to keep the supernatural aspect a secret. For the time being, they're stuck! Anya may be the only demon that Spike and Buffy may trust, if only Buffy or Spike would make a wish around Anya that would erase the memory spell so that Buffy could have eluded her insane mother and not gotten cut in the face. Spike's "mission" may already have a destined course but Buffy does not deserve to be mutilated for her mother's sins. Love the interaction between little Buffy and young Spike, if only Spike had not done that forgetting spell, Buffy could have runned away from her mom and joined the demon hunters then. Look forward to more.

Author's Response: Each vengeance demon has their own gig- like Halfrek avenged kids and Anya women. So I think they only fulfill wishes within those parametres. That's how I understand it anyway. So even if Buffy made a wish to never be cut by her mother, Anya wouldn't fulfill it. Besides, that would be too easy. ;) My goal is Buffy's character development and to have her come to terms with her scars and like how she is now. They both had horrible things happen to them but it served to shape them into who they are. If none of it happened, they might not even have met. Glad you liked that particular interaction! It was lots of fun to write. :) You'd like to see Buffy as a demon hunter, eh? Well, I bet Hank would mind if his 8-year-old ran away to do that. ;) Thank you for reading and reviewing!!!

Ah so it was Spike who saved Buffy when she was attacked.
So that was the first meeting of Buffy and Spike. But she wasn't hurt by her mom, Spike didn't mention that she was hurt (cut in the face). So her mom tried it before, to have Buffy killed?

Yup, he swooped in to save the day. Too bad he didn't know what would happen after Buffy woke up. He might have returned sooner and prevent those scars.

Spike flashback in this chapter happened before Buffy's in chapter 4. :) After he put her to bed and used the spell, Buffy woke up to the sound of her mother entering the house. That's why there were no scars yet. Spike actually saved her twice in one night. First from the vamps then from her mother. There is another bit from Spike's POV in the next chapter that explains what happened after he left Buffy's house and why he came back.

Author's Response: This flashback happened right before Buffy's so it might clear thing up for you entirely if you reread it. :) Spike used the forgetting spell on her which is why she didn't remember what had happened when she woke up to the sound of her mother entering the house.
