This chapter was wonderful. I'm so interested to find out what it was about the letter that made him so emotional. I love that he appreciates the kindness from Buffy, especially when he didn't want kindness before her. You were very successful at creating a change in him with the seemingly insignificant act of opening a window. I love these characters and this story. Please update soon .

This chapter was difficult to get through. It was jarring to read multiple times "the girl", especially after you've already introduced "the girl' as Buffy in the first paragraph. The writing would flow much smoother if you use just her name or pronouns.
