I think Giles is ok now but angel is still and will always be an asshole.
"ohh, i'm sorry for what angelus did. " You stupid fuck, you are angelus. I hate how he can never take fault for what his real self does. One of the reason i will always believe that Spike is the REAL champion vampire with a soul in canon.

Angel, ever the stubborn ass....gah, I hope Buffy just beats the hell outta him if he gets outta line. Loved it!! So glad that you gave us a chapter that was exclusively Giles/Angel with the details and answers we needed. And even with the Giles redemption for accepting the Spuffy relationship. Bravo!!! Can't wait for more!

And that is the question, why is Angel here. I like the fact that there is an entire chapter devoted to Giles explaining the whole situation to Angel. Angel sure needed to hear it, and he didn't need to make Buffy and Spike tell him over and over when we all know he would have been too angry at the both of them for any of it to have sunk in. Though I must say I see fireworks in the future if he gets his lame ass hauled to the Summer's house. I loved the chapter, and the fact that Giles has not only admitted to his previous errors in judgement, but acknowledged the fact that his errors will take some time and effort to come back from. Fabulous.

Boy do I still love that Elaine, and the way this chapter is told through her all out fear and unbelievable curiosity. It's hillarious watching this woman, scared to death, but still tapping her boot anxiously because the action isn't unrolling fast enough. Great chapter with amazing internal dialogue. Just fabulous!

Just found this again, with the recent updates and all, and felt compelled to reread what got them to where they are now... And this is still such a fantastic set up. The layer of now and then is so well done, and the journey they took, both having to plunge into those darkest depths before they came into their own. It's an amazing tale with such beleivable emotions, the way real coping tends to work, none of the instant love crap, just the way it seeped slowly into their lives. Really is an amazing piece of writing, let alone an amazing tale of Spuffy. Still amazing the second time around.

"Is Dilbert coming?" --Elaine just makes everything better. Her lack of tact is just brilliant. I also find it interesting that Spike owned the mansion. Makes everything deeper. Always a great thing in a story. And I find Willows comments about being uncomfortable in the Summer's home quite interesting. A true change in the tides. And it's nice to see Joyce making a friend, even with conspiatorial female bonding. Wonderful chapter. Can't wait for the next one! So glad to have rediscovered this story.

Love that Elaine and Rick and their divine banter. "Avon calling" well that's just pricelss. Love recounting the story of Spike throwing Elaine in the snow. And how much Rick enjoys telling it again! Great chapter.
