Oops, looks like I got behind on this.

You know, I do like being teased. It's like proper outdoor grilling, you have to let the coals smolder for a while to get the right sort of heat. Cultivating patience, enjoying the anticipation, the pleasure in the other things that pass the time while you're waiting. You know eventually you're getting the steak or kebabs or whatever you're waiting on but making sure the heat's just right beforehand makes it so much better when you get there.

Now I'm hungry. Great couple of chapters, the rapport they're building is about more than just sex, and even more than feelings, it's a mutual admitting of those feelings and what that means for their own self perception. It's about them coming to terms with who they are as much as it is about the other person, which is always an enjoyable layer of character building. Can't wait to see how this will eventually end up.

Author's Response: LOL! This cracked me up. I'm not telling you, because where would be the fun in that? ;) But we're very, very close.

Spike is right to be wary. Buffy might have the best intentions but when it comes to standing up to Xander, Willow and Giles about her personal life? She caves every single time. He right too when he said she had lots of people back home. We know Willow is working on a spell to get everyone back where they belong. But really I doubt they're trying very hard to get vamp Spike back. No one really cares about him in our Sunnydale. He is alone, no friends, no family. This place must feel like paradise. Even if Buffy had stayed a cold fish to him at least he had Emma. Going back means he loses even that.

Author's Response: He's doing the right thing by keeping back, although it is a slippery slope. They're here now, without all the outside influences, and it's rational for him to assume they won't be able to be this close once she's surrounded by the people she loves, people who are so important to her, and people that coincidentally hate his guts... or at least would never want him around her. They don't have any reason to trust him, because they haven't seen him like Buffy has. He's got the most to lose, I agree with you. But we can't forget that Buffy can be stubborn as hell when it comes to something/someone that matters. We'll see what happens! :)

Mmmh sounds as if Willow is no witch there? So no help from this side.

Loved the peak she has into the other them, so confused and worried about the little girl they can only hope has some kind of supervision. Tiny bit of a laugh riot that Spike is clearly the more domestic of the two. :) And the fact that Buffy has the "slayer-vision Spuffy Porno" going while Spike has his novel. The powers are totally dropping all focus on all things unrelated to Spike and Buffy being a couple. So gonna happen. Unless those darn pyromaniac squirrels come back... Update soon, and watch out for squirrels. :)

At least they know the other Spuffy are there, and can take the comfort in believing they're taking care of Emma. Spike is definitely the woman of the house in this case. lol I figured he would be. He's got that doting, taking-care-of-people type of personality. Good thing they've got those glimpses to nudge them along. ;)

Author's Response: They're aware of the attraction, and even gave into it, so that won't be a problem. The problem is them admitting there might be feelings than run deeper than lust. They're both stubborn, so we'll see how they deal. :)

Emma's very lucky she has a parent who understands the seriousness of looking one's best for the stuffed bears at those tea party events.

Buffy's probably lucky she seems to run hot. Getting a shirt full of snow and then making out with a guy whose mouth is probably about as warm as the winter air sounds chilly to me. ... Okay in the story it was hot but you get what I mean.
