Nice reaction from Spike to her preseence, very nicely done. and I always wonfered what the initiiative was going to do with the vampires, and hey, didn't Angel's series tlak about that also?

Giles and Xander working together on something. That can't be good. I'm glad that Buffy and Spike have come to a realization about themselves, but it sure seems as if trouble is still ahead. Wonderful chapter.

I love how it seems you always intend on wrtiting a little-to-no-plot smutfest, and all of these amazingly complex storyies develop. I also think the idea of making vampires weapons is logical, after all it is what the nazis were trying to do on the Angel episode "Why We Fight." Makes sense the idea would resurface within some military somewhere. Very glad she saved him and the Riley has grown enough balls to threaten the initiative. Fabulous chapter.

"Passions is on! Spike wouldn't leave his crypt during Passions. He doesn't have a VCR!"--I love that his 'passion' for cheesey TV soaps is what alerted Buffy to trouble. And I do wonder what they're trying to do to him. Poor thing praying for hallucinations. And, I wonder what Riley's plan is now. Another great chapter.

"You have your 'Spike made me angsty' face."--That's a good one. Love it when they both try to be all pride having, despite the tremendous charade that is. I do think it was a good plan for her to break up with Riley, but telling anyone you're leaving them for someone named Spike, that really isn't going to boost anyones ego or soften the blow... but it does make it more likely that Riley will try something stupid, and that always makes for a good story. Loved the chapter.

Spike having a place, usually of the good. And the whole gesture with the locket, so terribly sweet and romantic, still the poet at heart. Love how "A New Man" is wedged into the story too. Great chapter.
