Giles has good eyes.. he noticed the ring. :) Mmm Joyce is still MIA. ~ Difficult.. if Buffy cooks it's wrong, if she doesn't too. Oh good.. Spike can cook :) Oh that awkward.. Joyce graced the other with her presence at the table now. But still.. awkward. Joyce is an idiot.. she lost her daughter and seems as if she doesn't care that she did. She even speak to Buffy, only to accuse her. Poor woman...she doesn't know what she has thrown away.

Oh gods loved hyper Christmas cookie Dawn. That was great. How awesome where they having a great day and dinner, then that bitch Joyce ruined it. I think you really capture the real Joyce. She was not the nicey goody goody that came off on the show sometimes. She was a btich and did not give two shits about her oldest daughter. I do hope that Buffyt and Spike get out of there like now. I do hope you take Dawn and Giles to NY at some point if the muse is willing to give it out. great chapter write more now

Oy! Could Joyce be any more of a bitch? She's such a dolt. Can't say it's not possible though. My own mother could probably have given a similar performance at one point in our lives. Christmas morning started out fun and light even with Buffy's "Too hung over for Christmas," Buffy said . "And yet I'm a disappointment. Go figure." The black cloud of Joyce havered, and her arrival wasn't a disappointment. What a sour bitch. Her dialogue was cutting and angry, but Buffy really stood up to her. Excellent dramatic tension in this chapter.

Go Buffy! And it may sound strange, but I'm glad Joyce didn't have a sudden change of heart or anything. It would have been nice for them, but at this point, it would not have made sense. I know people who've cut ties with parents, and while it's painful, it's also liberating for those who need to do it.

Maybe Joyce comes around and maybe she doesn't, but I'm proud of Buffy for standing up for herself.

great chapter. I had thought Joyce would be able to get past everything, or at least a minute amount, but apparently not. That's too bad. I liked how Buffy stood up for their relationship, though. Eager for more!

Is it weird that I *like* that you made Joyce a bitch in this chapter? I actually like how *much* of a bitch you made her. It felt realistic. It almost made me cry. And it felt like a genuine familjy problem...the awkward silences and threats of cutting people out of your life forever. It was all so much more well done than a fluffly, "Oh hey... this is bad, but she'll see the light any minute now, and we'll have fluffy kittens and rainbows for Christmas" moment. So... thanks for sticking it out the hard way and making Joyce a rougher character than I've ever seen her in a fic. Good job.
