Nice orchestration of events with Giles returning just in time to stop the couple's departure. The confrontation with Joyce was vivid, and the family exodus was even a bit funny - looking at holiday decorations in the middle of the afternoon just to get away. Your Giles is warm and supportive, and his positive reaction (even with a bit of internal squirming) of Spike and Buffy's relationship is lovely to read. I'm looking forward to more Joyce, though, after this bit of calm.

Really, really liking Giles in this fic--it's a nice difference from how against Spike he was in the show..and evil Joyce is fun ever once in a while :) Great story.

I loved if you think you stop acting like a 3 year old who did not get her way or be an adult LMAO that was brilliant. Excellent chapter..great way they bonded as a family. How true... life is really too short, and sometimes the truth of that statement just couldn't sink in for some people. I'm glad to see that Rupert told his wife off for being such a selfish bitch on Christmas Eve, of all days!

Way to go GIles for standing up to raving maniac bitch Joyce. A truly lovely argument and an even lovelier result... going to see a picture that validates the importance a life is worth. Great juxtaposition. And also loving of timid Spike approaching Buffy in the beginning and how truly rationally she handled that. Really great chapter.

An absolutely brilliant update! Way to go, Giles!! Standing up to Joyce that way. Excellent point he has about losing one's kids by pushing the "my way" option, forcing them to often take the "highway" out. More Spuffy soon, please!

I'm really enjoying the loving relationship Buffy and Spike had developed. They really do seem so right for each other. I hope that Giles' outburst results in a positive change in Joyce. So glad they didn't get kicked out of the house after all.
