I saw it in my head that Spike would show up and kiss her before I read it. I'm happy for that, but I'm pretty sure it won't be that easy. They may both be out of relationships now, but they still have a lot to work through. Well, this chapter made me all happy. I'm glad that some progress was made. Can't wait for more=)

Just wanted to pop in a quick review. This is the first AU I have read; I've avoided them completely because I was wary of the non-vampire Spike. However, I'm totally hooked :D

I think the author's note you left after this last chapter made an insane amount of sense. I'm actually surprised that people have been complaining. This is one of the most original Spuffy ideas I've ever come across, and have been following this story since it's beginning. Good luck with it. Know that you continue to have a fan on your side!

GAHHHHHHHHHH thank the gods, she finally had the lil ephiany(sp). You worked this chapter wonderfully. Giveing Buffy the brunt of things for a change. Spike spoke the truth to her. I am glad it sunk in to her brain. She really decided to grow up and be adult about it all.

Having read your note I have now had a look at some of the reviews and I am utterly amazed. The relationshhip dynamic that you have illustrated so beautifully between these two seems perfectly realistic to me. Yes, I love them as a couple and I abhor the pain that they have endured, but hell, if it was all sunshine and flowers it wouldn't be much of a story now would it?

I am particularly astounded by those casting aspersions on Spike's intentions with Eve and his behaviour towards Buffy. I haven't read him that way at all. Ok, so he's not right all the time and nor is Buffy. They are fallible like most of us. Again, had they hboth been paragons of virtue, never putting a foot wrong: well we're back to considering what a scintillating read that would have made.

I feel bad that you are being driven to justify your decisions as the author when it does not seem necessary to me at all. Criticism should reveolve around plot viability, character consistancy, prose, grammar etc; none of which I can find particular fault with.

I am truly enjoying your story and the only frustrations I have with regard to it entail the wait for chapters - becuase patience and me are unmixy!

This time the story was posted to late for me so I read it this morning :)
I was relieved to see that Spike was calling again. Though it was the next day. Seems the day before, when he had the fight, he wasn't calling Buffy. Maybe it was too late, maybe he was too upset to do it.
Oh good, now we come to the bottom of the whole trouble (so to say): Spike was sure enough (felt sure enough after talking to Buffy these last days) that he asked her why they did break up, why the their relationship didn't work. That's good. Only when they know why exactly it didn't work they know how to prevent the same error from happening again, making a new one work (even I don't think Spike thought about that when he asked; he wanted to know). And it wasn't only because of Travers... Spike could have hunted her down, get her back; but he didn't because he was to hurt. He just let it happen, too hurt to act against it. Spike wasn't sure Buffy loved him?? Buffy's old problem, not being able to voice her feelings? No, not like that. Spike felt Buffy didn't support him too? Yeah, they really should have talked back then. You can't expect the other to be a clairvoyant. They could have avoided the misunderstandings; but what is done is done now. Buffy thought back then it was better not to bother him. Maybe she should have shown more interest in this songs too? I don't know. And then, when he noticed Buffy was crying, Spike was disconnecting the line. Seems it is still upsetting him too. Too much for him (?). ~ Oh yeah! Buffy noticed that at last she still loves Spike and it wouldn't be right to be with Wood then (regarding him, too). Buffy is breaking up with Wood now. (Me? I think it was the right thing to do and I'm glad it happened now.) ~ And Buffy had a lot of thinking to do about what Spike said. I don't know that thinking forward and backward what she could have done different will Buffy help to find a better solution. Buffy has to look forward .. and don't make one-sided decisions next time. Maybe it will help. (Yeah, and when I'm honest I still waiting for her to go back to Spike *gg* but I'm sure you know it.) ~ Oh big surprise! Eve Hart is at the door? And the chapter ended here :) Cliffhanger. How evil lol. Your good with your cliffhangers; now I have two days to wait. Well if I'm lucky I'll catch it on Thursday evening.
Do we have to found a club of Eve haters now ;-) I hope Buffy stands up to Eve; she did it before. Buffy is on her own territory; Eve isn't. Don't let her beat you, Buffy! *crosses fingers* Oh I don't trust Eve and Buffy doesn't have a witness; Dawn isn't there. Lol and I don't talk of killing Eve. I just expect her to be mean and a witness would have make a testimony for Buffy. I think Eve is out for blood so to say. Well be proud! You have me on the edge of my seat again.
I hope Spike 'has seen the light' too now. That Buffy still means a lot to him (aka that he still loves her); that talking to her is more important to him than to be in Eve's company. And Eve suspects that Buffy is the reason for Spike's coldness towards her (and she is right, huh?). She won't be there to tell she is giving up Spike now. Did I mention that I'm at the edge of my seat? Good then ;-)

Thanks for the time line again. I tend to forget about it when I'm reading (that in the story the time doesn't pass so quickly). I hope the story will continue for a bit longer when Buffy and Spike are back together. I will miss the story, that's sure.

Love the story. I even enjoy the angst. More please.
