can't we just string up eve in the town square? that would work out for everyone i think. i know it would work for me. though, i think her saying those things to him just kinda drove home what buffy had tried telling him that first night they talked on the phone. but i am happy that they're talking again. maybe they could start out as friends again. friends is better than nothing. and what's it gonna take for spike to admit he didn't just used to love buffy, but somewhere, deep down, he still does?

Man... How does she dare being that insensitive towards Spike?! Yeah, she's hurt and jealous, but the talking about sister fantasies was completely unnecessary. Please, Spike, dump her... *evil grin*

I understand both Buffy's and Spike's doubts and fears - it's been a long time after a completely unsatisfying end for both of them. I'm glad they keep talking to each other and share their past-time stories. Maybe they can rebuild a basic confidence.

I liked this chapter a lot. I guess we all know what it's like if we do something or let something happen which is, rationally looked at, not very clever or even dangerous...Love isn't about logic.

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhh awesome chapter hun. I have to give Eve credit for paying attention. She is right on t he money. Spike and buffy need to figure out quick where their hearts lie. It's not fair to Robin and Eve to get this hurt,over past antics together. You just keep writing this story and the rest of us will keep reading.


PS if you had a name you could file harassment chargers by now. That would be sweet justice. And you alreayd have a good lawyer to help you.

I've just caught back up on this story after giving it a long miss... (when Buffy blew off Spike I thought there wasn't a lot of places this could go), but I'm back... and I'm getting bad vibes about Spike now. Is he really an asshole who just wants to keep a woman on the line so he's got someplace to get his rocks off on? Is he really so dumb that he honestly cannot see that Buffy means more to him than Eve, and always has? What does he think those late night phone calls are all about? The ones that he, apparently, instigates and raises the temperature on? Does he really not have a clue that his calls are re-awakening locked away feeling in Buffy? Does he actually care about Buffy, above and beyond himself and Eve, at all?

GAAAARRRRGHHHHHH *Chrissie pulls hair in frustration*

Author's Response: Buffy and Spike met again on Saturday. This is now Wednesday. They weren't going to jump back into each other's arms and dump their respective honeys over night. I know it's frustrating to watch them be hesitant, but please, do bear in mind while you're reading this that it has only been a few days for the characters. Give them a little time to get with the program. ;)

Hooray!!! The third step in the road to recovery! First you had them willing to see each other and talk, then they had genuine communication when they spoke on the phone. And now, best of all, the realization that despite the fact they are with someone else now and "should" be moving on, they are miserable without the other. I like that Eve's not stupid, and that she's lashing out when she sees she's losing him-- very, very human reaction to the threat. Great update!

Seems that very dangerous place where people crawl inside their own minds trying to figure out what's best for themselves and all other parties involved... That same little space that usually houses the argument between Truth and Denial... Love that they've both moved in. And it's all so true. It hurts to go there but it may just kill you if you don't. I love it. Love that Spike and Eve are beginning to drift, that Buffy can't sleep for fear she'll miss his call, it's just all good. And so true, though my torchure is fear I'll miss my alarm in the morning, so I don't sleep waiting for it to wake me, but same general problem, hers is just more fun to read about! Looking forward to the next update.

Ewwww, even though Spike didn't have sex with Eve I still feel I need to shower. Whatever the fanfic equivilent is to sticking your fingers in your ears and saying "I'm not listening" is what i wish I could do when it comes to Spike and intimacy with anyone but Buffy. I was wondering when we were going to get Spike's point of view again. Spike really should have been more considerate when calling Buffy in the middle of the night.

Buffy...well, serves her right, feeling like this. She threw away the best thing that ever happened to her.

And Spike's worry about trusting Buffy again is certainly valid...the girl does nothing but lie to herself, and then others. She's still so insecure that she can't accept and like who she is inside, and focuses on the validation of others.

I have to say I got nervous when Spike said he would stay, but I think it turned out that maybe Spike would see how others would think of his relationship with Buffy, and of course Eve would show some of her true colors. Spike needs to understand how Buffy thought it would be viewed, but we all know that true love always wins out, maybe not right away, but one needs the proper ammunition to fight each battle, and understanding is the first battle. Great chapter and thanks

Wow, that must be a heavy dose of humiliation, not being able to get it up for your girlfriend. It almost made me feel sorry for Eve. Almost. Even though there was no Spuffy interaction this chapter, I thought it was a good look at how their conversations were really affecting their lives as a whole, not just at three in the morning. Good work, Addie. I can't wait for the next chapter!

i am sure you realize, good authors/artists take good with bad reviews (not that that was even a bad review) i actually like the story.
if you only want to read people throwing praise your way and pretend that there are no constructive/honest responses to any parts of your stories you should ignore the review section and carry on with your story. (or lighten up when you DO get a review that does not sit well with you)
bottom line, if you really believe in your story then tell it no matter what any feedback is BUT don't go attacking a review because you do not like a reader honestly stating their feelings

Author's Response: This will be my last response to you, because I'm not starting this up again. I had hoped this sort of thing was over, but apparently not.
I can take constructive criticism. What I don't appreciate is unconstructive complaints. Obviously, you knew your review was not something to be taken well because you couldn't even sign your name, so don't be outraged that I responded the way I did.
If you've been paying attention, then you know what I've been putting up with, and would know that this reivew would be bothersome to me. If you didn't, well, I'm sorry, but this is coming after two months of getting harassed, and I'm not so much hypersensitive as tired of it.
Saying you're tired of reading angst is not constructive criticism, and it will not be treated as such. I know where this story is going, you don't, and your review was in no way helpful to me. If you have anything actually constructive to say, I'd love to hear it, but otherwise, you can choose to either read the story the way I'm writing it or not read.
