I absolutely love this story. From sexy to sad to romantic to sweet in the span of 18 chapters. It's one of my favorites of yours, but it's a really close tie. I'd be more sad that it was over if you didn't have so many other great stories in progress right now! :-)

What a nice ending :) I'm glad I stuck it through (as you asked in your A/N's so often!). As hard as it was to read Spike as such a jerk and Buffy as weak, I'm sure it was harder to write them that way. And the best stories are the ones that get the readers talking and reacting so strongly. Good going!

So, in response to Franchesca, I know it's a very different character for Spike, but I wanted to show that he'd changed and that it was Drusilla that brought out the bad side of him. Woo-hoo! Buffy finally comes to her senses... I really liked this chapter, especially the way you had Buffy leave. It was heartbreaking, but she did it out of pride and out of love for Spike. Very nicely done :)

I'm thinking that Buffy's really letting Spike get off easy for all the heartbreak he's caused her. He's been nothing short of selfish, manipulative and a complete jerk. And if Willow was a true friend, she'd be trying to get Buffy to leave this horrible rut.

Oh dear--that was pretty much rape, wasn't it? I'm not sure what I think of that--and the fact that Buffy didn't knock his lights out. It's extremely hard to know that Spike will be changing his personality (in a good way) because he's been written in such a way that he doesn't seem to deserve a good ending. But I'm off to the next chapter :)

Good for Buffy! She just wants her man and could care less about her career. I did like that Spike was trying to find a solution, but Buffy is absolutely right. Great chapter and looking forward to reading more. =)
