I do like this fic, very much. But I have to say I don't understand why Buffy tolerates this Riley, who is so obviously a bigoted ***, even if she is afraid of her feelings for Spike. Buffy's character should respond so negatively to his prejudices that she would have cut him loose a long time ago, even if this meant she had to find another excuse for not accepting Spike. I do love your Dawnie, though, very sweet, but very impulsive. And, I'm very interested to see where this is going...

Yes, Riley is a pill in this. I always wondered why Buffy kept him around in the show? Then I figured it out...he was safe for her. She didn't have to love him too much, if at all. She was stronger then him, physically, emotionally, morally.
That's why I have Riley as a kind of 'devil's advocate' in this fic.
Buffy is becoming well aware that Riley is not her equal, Spike is. After this chapter, and in the next few chapters, Riley will have worn out his welcome.

This chaste stretch is really becoming long. At this rate I really think Dawn and Connor are going to have sex before Spike and Buffy. Of course, it is definitely in character for Buffy to be so stubbornly self-righteous.

However, she'll start to come around, soon.

I really admire how you develop the relationship between Spike and Buffy. I don't completely understand how Riley fits in with Buffy having issues from her former marriage. He seems to be more of a charity project for Buffy than anything else!

Ohhhh.... I love the flirting! This is so much fun. I just read this story up to date today, and I can't remember if I reviewed any of the other chapters. I can't wait to see where this story goes. So, is this one of your PG turns 18 or NC-17 or will it be a strictly PG story?

Actually, this story runs a little long and varies between PG/18 and a little NC-17, depending on your perspective.
This was a real labor of love for me as it sprinkles in certain aspects of my Mother's family history in it. The characters just seemed so perfect from BTVS/ATS for this one!
I am seriously thinking of beginning to submit the first Spuffy fanfic I ever wrote...
Buffy's Revenge Sunnydale Style
Now, this is definitely a major NC-17 rating fic, especially when Spike finally enters the picture.
The problem with this fiction is a I got some real 'slap' reviews at another site because Buffy is less then likable in this one, especially at the beginning.
Angel is a total creep...everyone, including Spike (at first) are pretty obnoxious. I was thinking of maybe submitting the Summary and first chapter, then seeing what readers thought?
Sorry this is so long.
In the other fiction (which I intended on submitting as soon as Rebel Hearts was finished) Buffy is betrayed by Angel (Fantasy/AU) and decides to stick it to him, literally, with other men. So, unfortuately, it means Buffy with other guys, however, temporary. I did keep the 'affairs' with the others (it was more the who the other guys were that bothered some readers) very non-graphic.
The only real graphic sex in this fiction is Spuffy sex, period. And, again, Spike is not a real stellar guy at the start either as he is holding something over Buffy's head and using it to get her into bed?
Anyway...I wonder if I should submit this here?

It's nice to see Hank be more human. A lot of fics paint him as a terrible monster, but even in the series, Hank was simply a failing father. I like that he's overbearing and dominant, but that he concedes to Buffy's and Joyce's wills.
