oh! That last part was really sweet. I'm glad Buffy did go to Spike for comfort. It's a bit of a relief that she's not afraid of him. Wonderful chapter again!

aawww.spike is so sweet. i'm glad their going to the hospital. now parker can pay. i hope he not only rots in jail but he know how it feels to be the victim. now that i've said that. you rock and i can't wait for another chap. ohhh and thats for saying that were going to get another chap of DoP. i really love that story.

AUTHOR'S NOTE - Well, I'm usually able to respond to this story, but something in my account isn't letting me, so- to spuffette, thank you so much! That was my biggest problem with writing each chapter and one of the biggest hurdles that I had to face: not everyone has a person like Spike. I was very reluctant to have everyone else back up Spike, in regards to Buffy, because there are people in this type of relationship who don't have anyone to turn to. Ultimately, I realized that it had to be done- Buffy could have done this alone, but (without going into too much detail) it would not be a story that I know how to tell. I can relate to this story and that's why it's going the way it is. Originally, I wanted Buffy to be someone who got herself out of the relationship without any help, but I didn't know how to tell it and it probably would have been forced.

Sh**! We needed the comfort chapter! Thank you... I want to relate a story to you, quickly (I hope) and I hope this is okay here: If you've never been in a situation like this story's plot line, then you have no idea what it means to have family, or friends or just even strangers that take the time to help and comfort you. I can't believe, Ashlee, how you have captured the whole 'picture' of a violent, abusive relationship in such a realistic way. The sense of helplessness, hopelessness, by the abuse victim and everyone around her is so right on in this story. Without going into the 'victims' rights' mantra, I would like to remind everyone reading this story that there are probably 'battered womens and mens, and childrens'' shelters near them that could use a little help. Remember, there are many women, men and children who do not have the family and friend support needed to get them out of the abusive situation and into a safe haven. Please consider donating toys, for the kids, a dollar or two for supplies, even clothes in good shape and makeup supplies, etc. to these shelters. Most shelters provide job finding classes so the women, especially, can make a new life for themselves and their families. The clothing and makeup help with the job interviews and it's amazing how morale lifting a little warm comfort can be for the families in the shelters. Okay, I'm going on and this was supposed to be a review. I'm just so damn taken with this fiction and it is definitely bringing tears to my eyes. Anyway, another great chapter Ashlee, and please, update soon. Luv, Spuf

So glad that she's going to the hospital.... I thought she showered and was very preturbed that she washed away any evidence he left. Good chapter. I imagine this is a very hard fic to write... everyone has his/her own opinions, thank you for stepping up

Heartbreaking. At least Buffy felt safe going to Spike's fraternity. Can I make a suggestion??You should not have Faith help Buffy clean up.She should be taken to the police to file a report the way she is now.It might sound callouse,and Buffy is feeling dirty and wants to try and wash it all away,but it will be better for her in the long run is she dosent.Picture's don't lie,and she will need them as evidence.
