So cool! I like how Spike has powers. But I don't get this, Spike admitted that he loves Buffy, even if he doesn't know much about her (only that she's his mate). And after that, Buffy didn't give much of a response on how she feels about him.

Author's Response: Well yeah, if you've read the Carpathian series thats the way it is a lot of times... not to mention, in my opinion I made her a bit nicer about the situation than most of the female lifemates. Usually they give the males a lot more grief and are way more resistant to the situation. I mean, the females are usually independent, strong women and then this domineering male comes along to try to take over their lives... hello :P I mean, a lot of times I read it thinking I would so be beating the male in the head with something hard, lol. But, thats okay, I know a lot of the readers won't be familiar with the novels and I didn't want ONLY fans of Feehan to read, hence the nice little note with the first chapter. ^.^
