Catching up on all I've missed here & it remains as fantastic as ever! Love Lorne here - great characterization - true to Canon but with more depth & sweetness. I also love the emotional content of your work. There is so much that's true to life here - it's so relatable. I love how you don't make it easy & fluffy & perfect - they have to work at it & it makes it so much more rewarding in the end.

Lorne with the big insights ... you said it. I just hope this will bring Buffy and Spike nearer together :) And not the other way around.

Putting Lindsey in daycare to keep her from being exposed to the tension was excellent advice. Lorne was very insightful, and Buffy has a way to go before she's going to trust Spike again.

I like Lorne, but I'm afraid I'm can't go along with him on his advice.

The daycare/preschool, yes, definitely, however, to tell Buffy to distance herself from Spike is not effective.in my opinion.

Here's why I feel that way: I'm old fashioned enough to feel that a couple should work on their problems'because' of a child, not despite it. Does that make sense?
Yes, Lindsey needs to be gone from home for a while during the day, etc, but Spike and Buffy need to work out their problems, after all Spike is Lindsey's father.
I've been married 3 times, so please hear me out. I made mistakes, plenty of them and if I could have save my last marriage (#2) I would have, certainly, if for my child only. However, there was drug/alcohol and physical abuse involved and even a Catholic priest told me cut and run. (I did).
Here's the point: relationships are hard, but if a child is involved and the problems are 'not' insurmountable, then I feel you owe the child to 'try' and work things out, not run.
That's about it, I love this story and will continue to read it.
i do agree with the reviewer that said that Buffy needs to realize the world does not revolve around her, however, neither does it revolve around Spike.

I hope that makes sense,
spuf

Good chapter, it's always refreshing to hear the perspective of an outsider . I also think he's right, Spike and Buffy are in this perpetual state of limbo and all that anger is still there. I think they do need to distance themselves and I hope Spike is understanding about putting Lindsay in daycare.

I do also hope that Spike tries to move on as well, cause that seems to be the path Buffy is making at this point and it'd be foolish to just sit and wait for her to come around. He also deserves some "me" time as well and he should take it.

like the story but if spike moves on please let him move on! even date I hate it when buffy goes on with her life and spike and sitting there waiting for an invite and when it finally comes he is suppose to be grateful.

You know when I first read about the whole therapy thing I thought that Buffy would come to the conclusion that she needs to distance herself from Spike. All it took was one session too. Hopefully Spike will at least try and move on and just focus on being a good father to Lindsey. Spike needs to stop being so obsessive and Buffy needs to realize that the world does not revolve around her.

Yay! I like Lorne. Sometimes I wish I could just snap my fingers and have him appear and help me decifer what the heck is going on with my life. He would be a major help! =)

That chapter hurt my heart so much and there wasn't even any interaction between Buffy and Spike. It just seems so hopeless, I just can't see how they can ever get together. I just can't stop the tears from coming.

This chapter was very nicely done and very much needed too I think. And isn't Lorne just the greatest? I want a pocket-sized edition so I can tcarry him around with me and take him out for sage words of wisdom on an as-needs basis, lol. 8-P
