Buffy! What are you? Nuts? Go back and look at the sketch you were drawing - you know -- happiness -- you, Lindsay and SPIKE! OMG! I can' t believe she's PUSHING him to go on a date with some random woman! Well, your tale worked - I'm all pissed off at Buffy's decisions (I know, I know, healing and dealing time must follow a course and all that rot)! Oh well. I know (hope, pray) she'll come to her senses soon and realize THEY can heal together, and build a life together full of LOVE. More please - I'm on pins and needles!

It may be good for Spike... but it made me sad. Buffy seemed to get happy (meaning after not having something to draw he started when she pictured her, her daughter ... and Spike. And now she's sending him on a date. If she thinks Spike has to decide what he wants.. she may loose him.

Wow--- Big step for Spike. I like how the two of them were honest, and pained, but willing to move forward like adults. Great chapter. I'm so glad you are still plugging away at this fic.

Oh that's just so sad. The line about Spike loving her for so long was very touching. I don't want him to go out on a date :(

tjx, you said it for me: Why look elsewhere when the life you want is right in front of you?
We keep doing this sh**, don't we? Because some jaded wanna be guru tells us to 'find ourselves' when ourselves were right in front of us all along.
You're right, there is nothing wrong with loving someone and letting them love you.
I hope Spike doesn't do something stupid and use a woman who he does not want or love just to prove something to a woman who is too stupid to realize her love is right in front of her.
I've seen this far too often. Let someone go and if they return to you: Yada yada yada bullshit. Okay, I still go with this: Let someone loose, let them free and if they don't return to you? Hunt them down and shoot them!
Okay, I don't mean that, but I guess I just see that these are two very selfish ppl here. Lindsay wants her parents but they're too busy 'finding' themselves to be together. Well, Buffy spent years finding herself with Angel and Spike with Fred and any other bimbo that stumbled along.
Didn't work, won't work now. Just my opinion, sorry.
I hope that Spike doesn't sleep with a woman he wants for a Buffy wanna be. It just doesn't work and Buffy needs to give up this martyr shit as far as I'm concerned. You fight for family, always.
Anyway, I'm so glad you're updating this now.

Okay...ummm...this is gonna pretty much be "stream of conscienceness' 'cause I can't really put what I think of this chapter into words. I love the beginning. because it seemed more positive than buffy has been in a while, but then, she tells Spike to go on the date, which I agree would be a good thing, so she can evaluate how she feels about him through his going out with someone who isn't her, and he can remember what it feels like to be around a woman who wants to be around you, But, ultimately, by the end, I felt like I wanted to cry for the both of them. When Spike says “I don’t want to let you go. I’ve loved you for so long . . . “ and Buffy's response...what she sais makes since, and it's the right thing for her to do, but...it breaks my heart. it feels like they're giving up on each other when they should be...well, I don't know what they should be doing...but I know it's not giving up. Maybe Spike going out with this woman will wake Buffy up a little and realize there's nothing wrong with loving someone & letting them love you back, even when you're trying to find yourself because the person who loves you already see who you are, even if you can't. Okay, think this is officially the longest review I've ever left...and I'm not sure a word of it made sense. Anyway, great chapter. Beautifully written as always.

The angst! It burns! It burns! Oww, that just hurt the heart. Another excellent chapter. You are the master of making it hurt in just the right way. It will make it all the more sweeter. It will get sweeter right?
