God. Poor, poor Spike. This fic still has me captivated, because the character studies in it are just amazing, but at the same time...God. Simply terrible. Heartbreaking. I've never wanted Buffy to gallop to the rescue quite so much.

Author's Response: Don't worry you've not got long to wait at this point... :)

I really am quite fond of this story. Don't know why I haven't written a review so far. Wow, Warren sure is a perverse little f*cker. Poor Sike. I REALLY can't wait for him to get the crap beat out of him when Buffy comes to save Spike. Glad Buffy filnally found out, and SO glad she is accepting some of the blame. Waiting anxiously for your next installment. Love it!

OH MY GOODNESS! *Loud thud as she hits the floor* 2 minutes later she recovers enough to type the following...
Thoroughly gut-wrenching piece you have here. Well paced and crafted with an eye for the over-all development of the story as well as each individual chapter, you're certainly leading us on a convoluted pathway through some very dark places. Buffy's gradual recognition of her own abusive behaviour in particular, and even her attempts to justify it (if only to herself), was done with skill and insight. As much as I loved the Buffy character on BTVS, her statement "I don't hate like that. Not you. Not me. Not anymore." from 'Never Leave Me' just didn't cut it with regard to her accepting responsibility for what I thought was her monstrous behaviour during Season 6. That said, I also believed the First Slayer captured Buffy's true essence in 'Intervention' when she told her "You are full of love". Here's to hoping she can find the courage to truly forgive (a gift that can only be sincere when given with love). Forgive herself, her friends, and Spike. Oh and please let there be some serious Warren ass-kickage coming up soon...you know you want to *wink* Will wait eagerly for the next chappie!
