Thanks for your promise regarding Riley *gg* You're welcome ;-) I wonder if Buffy believed Riley that Spike told him about the kiss. And then Buffy turned to Spike. What does she think? She going to him in order to hurt Riley. I don't know how much it will effect Riley but maybe it a thing about ownership. He thinks Buffy is his. But really? If Buffy goes to sleep with Spike because of that reason she is only going to use him. That may make her and Riley even regarding the vamps. And it makes Buffy as bad as Riley is. Even if Spike will do it freely. She will use him.

Wow. Great chapter.

I was hoping for more of a Riley smackdown, but I think it would have been too soon. Buffy has a way to go yet. I loved every minute of the confrontation, though.

Back in her room?? Very, very yummy. I love her posessiveness, and Spike's response to her... now, MORE (please?)

as if there was any doubt befor but riley is a jerk. i understand that not training could weaken buffy but how did riely get so strong and her so weak. lt just seems a little off. could he be draining her power or is he on the drugs that walsh gave him ? anyway i could also just be underestemating the importance of a wok out. if thats the problem she sould start training again. hopefuly with spike. anyway can't wait to see what you came up with. plese update again soon you're doing a great job.

Two things really, really upset me with Buffy in this chapter:

Firstly, there was,
She pulled her mouth away. She knew already that eventually she would give in, as she always did, and he would have his way. But right now she was far too angry and hurt still to submit to such affection.

Why? Riley might be artificially increasing his strength or reducing hers somehow, through some freaky development his sick organisation might have invented... but that should only affect physical power not mental and emotional self determination! Why can't the silly cow (can you tell I'm upset with Buffy here?) think for herself and be true to her beliefs? Or is she so shallow and weak that people like Willow and Xander are actually stronger than she? How the heck did the PtB choose such a weak willed person to be the Slayer?! *Grrrrr*

Second,
She debated for a moment, her bruised, needy heart arguing with her timid, ravaged spirit.

And then she made her decision, and headed back for the stairs…back up to her room.

She had somewhere else to turn, too.

WTF? Is she now using Spike to get back at Riley? Is this a, "You ba***rd, you did it to me and it hurt, now let's see if you like it... and I'll get some comfort from it too 'cause I know Spike adores me!" revenge and comfort shag? Does she realise that by initiating this with Spike she'll probably hurt the vampire more than Rileys beatings ever could? Unless, that is, she's actually seen some sense and is going to walk away from Riley... but that contradicts the first excerpt, doesn't it... that she knows she will eventually give in to Riley.

I'm telling you jl, Buffy is one sick young woman here. I need to lie down. Shouldn't read fic that's going to get me so emotional this early in the morning... no caffeine for me today.

Maybe a less emotionally draining chapter next one, eh? Phew.

She's not doing it for the right reasons, though. Yes, she's had growing affection because he has acted like a friend to her, but this is still because she feels so rejected and betrayed by Riley.

She isn't fully to asserting herself with Riley, yet. She didn't even tell him the truth about the kiss, that she had initiated it, and ended it, because she was feeling vulnerable; and that it went no further than the one kiss. Totally different than what Riley has been doing.

I hope she decides to start training and sparring right now. She has a responsibility as the Slayer. Always will have.

I'm lovin' this story. As much as I want Riley's imminent death..I can understand...since one of my fic's take quite a bit until Riley's ass is kicked ...and my reviewers let me know it too!

i loved that she finally confronted riley about his little "nothings" on the side! i am kind of disappointed that he wasn't reminded what a real slayer is. I was really hoping that he would get his ass kicked and handed to him! i am really LOVING your story and can't wait to read more! PLEASE UPDATE SOON!
