Oh, I forgot something - Spike is still the same selfish prick as ever, some changes aside. Not once does he consider that actually Gabriel might be better for her and make her happy. He is all about "I can´t live without you, yada yada.." but he never really thinks about what is good for her. It´s still all about him. That is not love, either. I´m trying to find any proof of his love, but he never did anything except take, take, take. Why can´t she be alone for a while and heal and then really fall for someone else entirely and have the real deal?

Author's Response: I get where you're coming from; even as the writer, I'm still pissed at Spike. But, part of this story is about how people can grow up and change for the better. Everything Spike went through in LA was part of this changing process, but he still has a ways to go. Right now, he's just saw her again for the first time in 3 years and emotions are running high... but the story's far from over. I'll understand if the way Spike has acted so far makes you choose not to continue reading, but it'd be really, really cool if you stuck with me until the end. =) I hope I wont dissapoint you.

Life is too short and trust isn't everything. Passion, love, the whispers in the night is what you'll remember and relive as you grow older. Who cares if you trust him to take out the trash or change the oil in the car? It really is a different life taking the 'safe' route.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I agree with you... trust isn't everything. But when you've been burnt, it's hard to open your heart again. It's funny... life's like a roller coaster. When you take the safe one, you smile at the end of the day and think "oh, that's nice." But when you take the wild one, the ups are amazing and the downs are heartbreaking... much more dramatic. At the end of the day, you're either dead or completely taken away. This is essentially a Spuffy story, so keep holding out for them!

Buffy still loves Spike but is afraid of getting hurt again....with good reason. Can't wait for more!

Great job writing the beginning-of-the-reunion scene. You found for Spike just the right balance between feeling hopeless, devastated, and yet more determined than ever to win Buffy back. And Buffy, we got to see a fair taste of the turmoil she was instantly thrown into by seeing Spike again. Good job with the inner monologues and the silent communication between the two. i can't wait to read more - update soon, please!

But he has to fight against Gabriel. Well dear Gabriel, buying a girl jewels won't win her heart for you if she doesn't love you (if she's honest). Ah well, I'm on the Spuffy side ;-)
