I have been wondering why whenever Spike does something bad, why I am always so quick to forgive him or can atleast understand what happened. I think I get it now that I read this chapter. Whatever Spike does, he does with so much feeling and all of his heart. And if he knows that something that he has done is wrong, he also regrets it with everything that he is. This is an amazing story. So many emotions are portrayed very well. I love it to pieces. Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Thank you. I am glad that I seem to be accomplishing what I intended. See if your opinion changes as we (and Buffy) learn more. (FYI - I think that Spike is like that in the show too, maybe except for the regrets bit, because the only thing he really regrets is not being able to save Buffy from Glory and Doc.)

It wasn't obvious to me, beforehand anyway. I did know what was going to happen as soon as they recognized each other. Nothing else made since. Even though I don't think that Spike is evil, he didn't seem like the type to randomly help hookers either. Oh and I totally wanted to smack Xander there, can't believe that he said that. Can't wait for everyone's reactions. More please.

Author's Response: Good idea for the smacking Xander part....maybe I'll write that in somewhere. And for what it's worth, apparently even pretty evil people usually don't think of themselves that way - at least that's what I hear from Sopranos.

Bet that Xander and Buffy will be staring daggers at Spike and Anya! Buffy would have to wonder if Spike was the "best client" when he was married or after the breakup with Drusilla.

Knowing Anya, she would also tell how much he'd paid and the tip that paid for her retirement. At least she isn't comparing size's between Xander and Spike cause that would be awful! LOL!

Author's Response: You'll find out Spike's version of events in the next chapter - and probably more details will come out later on, because of course he won't tell her everything. As far as how much she was paid, I go back and forth on that. Of course in reality I have no idea how much services like that go for LOL! but I'd have to say a LOT. Anya wasn't a streetwalker, and Spike's had quite a bit of money for a long time. Of course as they say, money can't buy you happiness.

Author's Response: Don't you just hate people like that, who actually listen to what you say and trap you with your own words? I think this Tara is very good at what she does.

I think that the fact that Spike cares enough about Buffy to make sure that she has some help dealing with her feelings over Angelus , speaks volumes about how much he cares about her.

Very cool that Tara and Buffy knew one another. The type of person that Buffy is...she might actually open up to someone that she knows and thinks of as a friend. No doubt, Buffy has some serious issues to deal with. Also doesn't hurt that Tara can help her get some perspective on her feelings for Spike. Very intelligent chapter..I really liked it alot!

Author's Response: We'll have to see how much help Tara proves to be. Like Buffy, she wants Spike to be innocent. But even she realizes that it is possible he is hiding some things, even from her.

I like that you used Tara's character traits so well here..SHe has all the makings of a wonderful therapist. I think Spike might be right about it being good for Buffy to see Tara, but what he doesn't know is that Buffy could not truly open herself up at this time..Not with the investigation.

I just don't know what to think of Spike..After being privy to his session with Tara..I feel very sympathetic toward him. I am with Buffy..I want him to be innocent!! lol

Author's Response: I agree, if she weren't a wicca, Tara has the makings of a very good therapist. How kmuch Buffy will open up though, we'll have to see. I'd say we're probably all attracted to Spike in all his various incarnations. If he didn't have a darker side, he wouldn't be nearly as interesting.

So glad that you worked Tara in somehow. I've always loved her character. And she is very believable as Spike's best friend. This is an amazing story. Can't wait to find out what exactly Spike is guilty of and how they handle all the truths that need to come out. Looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Thanks. We'll see more of Tara. Pretty much everyone in the story has a pivitol role as events unfold. I remember what a teacher once said about the playwright, Checkov (I don't remember which teaccher or the play we were studing, lol). If he put in a gun on the wall as part of his stage directions, the play wasn't over until the gun was fired.
