Maybe Spike could indeed start to call Buffy by her name, to make a difference to her job (and the demon), the slayer. He went after her after Buffy fun off. His reaction was the worst he could do; he had to try very hard to make a move more worse than that. Buffy did the ritual and is guilty of that, but after? She is a victim too. Buffy noticed the use of her name (or better the lack of too). ~ I wonder how you'll make the their relationship better again at this point of the story. Looking forward to find it out (read it).

I'm wondering if these two crazy kids will ever get it right? Maybe Willow can remind Buffy of a time when she wanted to make things better with Oz, and it was Buffy who indicated it would take time and lots of groveling. I know the point she was trying to make, but looks like neither party made their point really well-- too much emotion and much to tired to make any real progress. Looking forward to more.

oh my god. this is getting even scarier than when the evil Slayer demon was in control- because now, it's the ones we all know and love, and I'm terrified that they won't be able to get past this!

p.s. I probably should mention this at some point, so... you are quite possibly one of the best authors I've ever read. Your plotlines are smart and intriguing, your writing is intense and very visceral, and your characterizations are spot on. You rock!

Spike is so wrong about Buffy acting like the slayer! The slayer wouldn't be crying over him! She'd stake him! Maybe Buffy should leave Spike and go back to Angel! At least he'd treat her better!

I'm confused. I would think by calling her Buffy he could start
seperating the two. The Slayer and the girl he loves. I t could help the healing process. I just don't think he wants to do that.

Let me preface by saying - I truly LOVE this tale - however, you are the queen of ripping out the hearts of your readers! Yes, I admit, my heart is shredded over Buffy and Spike's odeal and it is an ordeal for both of them even though Spike took the brunt. He was so abused at HER hands, but Buffy is so torn up over it. They are both so broken right now and after all has happened in this tale - this part, where they love each other but can't be with each because of the recent past - it just the most heart-wrenching thing I've every read. It's about time someone called Spike on calling Buffy "Slayer" all the time. Too bad Buffy was the one to do. I disagree with Spike's last statement. Buffy is not acting like the "Slayer". He would be beaten to a bloody pulp if she was. She is acting like a desperate woman. Seriously, if Spike can request that Buffy not be near him (then he needs to not go near HER wouldn't you think? Hello mixed signals), then by god Buffy sould be able to request he use her NAME.
