Wow.

Where to start? First off, I can understand where Buffy is coming from with this. If I were her, I would be beyond frustrated with the guy (though I know it's really touching and romantic) but I would be mad because it's manipulative on the guy's part to keep sending flowers. Anya isn't much of a help either. I can see how Buffy feels like she's backed up against the wall and climbing up on it.

It would be difficult to breathe, let alone think with so many of your senses being bombarded. Spike is really pushing it. If this is Lorne's idea... well, I didn't expect that, coming from him because initially Lorne was apprehensive about crowding Buffy. He knew she needs time. Unless this is all a part of his plan to make Buffy go over in a fit of frustration to see Spike.

I admire Lorne's straightforward tongue lashing though. It's not easy to tell someone off like that. It's what Spike needed to see the big picture of how much he'd screwed up because other times, he didn't know how he had ruined a good thing. He was much more of a 'act now, think later' kind of guy. I still don't understand why he wanted to hold the information of what he's currently saving up for away from Buffy because clearly, it's no big deal. Maybe he wanted to avoid bringing up the topic or the fact that he's prostituting. He just knew that he wanted to court her with a clean slate.

Author's Response: I thoroughly agree with you. If I were Buffy and kept getting flowers when I needed time to think, I'd be furious and I definetely wouldn't call. Of course I wouldn't go to his place either, but of course i have my purpose in sending Buffy to Spike's, lol. Oh yes, Lorne lit into Spike a little, but it was needed sad to say. As for Lorne suggesting the flowers be sent every hour? Well, I wouldn't jump to any conclusions just yet. Indeed typical Spike, even on the show, is an act now think later kind of guy. Hindsight being 20/20 is what made him so desperate too, thus begging her forgiveness through a bombardment of posies. It really isn't a big deal and he should tell her about the restaurant, but it's his low opinion of himself from what he had to do to get the money for Grisanti's and having nothing to offer Buffy until he does that holds him back. In a nut shell... he's got issues, self-esteem issues. THanks for the wonderful review sweety, I love the fact you're really thinking about the characters and their motivations, it tells me I've done my job as a writer, smooches.

I found it really interesting that both Spike and Buffy refused to listen to their friend's advice, Lorne was right about Spike fessing up about his restuarant plans, and Anya made some really good points in her talk with Buffy... Anya was just fantastic in this chapter!Loved the update! :D

Author's Response: Well, you know how stubborn they can be and the given stress of their seperate 'issues', well, they don't tend to make the best decisions. And Buffy, get over yourself, or end it for good. You say you see the man beyond the profession, and yet that's the first thing you harp on when he doesn't do exactly what you want. Either be judgemental enough to not have anything to do with that life, or stop using that fact to suit your purposes. Being a primo bitch about this.

Author's Response: Yes, he is a poor silly boy, but Buffy can be just as bitchy at the same time, lol. Anya got it right, that Buffy needs to get over herself. She has a tendancy to pick and choose her view of William according to her mood, all in an effort to keep him at a distance. Thanks for the review sweety. wow. buffy thinks waaaay too much. i mean, i get why. the way the two of them met is a little untraditional but william adores her. yes, he did act like a jackass in the last chapter but buffy hasn't been entirely blameless here either. they both obviously have trust issues here. it would make things so simple if buffy would just stop ignoring what she knows is there and just talk to him.

Author's Response: She certainly does, it's her downfall for sure. She really has a hard time seeing past his 'job' even though she thinks a lot of him. You're right. She's just as much to blame in the last chapter as Spike was. They both made bad decisions that led to more problems. My muse is blowing kisses at you right now and says thanks. Spike was sweet to send the flowers but I think if Buffy says she needs time then she means it! He still should have told her he's no longer an escort. Wonderful chapter!

Good that Buffy talked with Anya (because except for Lorne she doesn't have one to talk to about Spike). Bad that she thinks where the money came from.
Uh-huh... Buffy got a bit crazy (as in mad at Spike) so driving to him now... I wonder how it will turn out. I hope Spike can convince him to accept his apology. Looking eagerly forward to another part.
