Jeez, he's not the sharpest tool, is he? I can't believe it took him that long to figure out that he could hurt demons...lol! It came to him pretty quickly on the show and he didn't even think about the fact that maybe the chip just stopped working. It was mean of Buffy to tease him, though. Okay, maybe only a little. We'll see how much longer they can hide their feelings for each other. I like that William got the letter and decided to write back to her. I wonder if this will change Spike's memories at all or anything. It probably would have been easier if she didn't put Elizabeth, but what's the fun in things being easy? I still don't know where anyone got the idea that Buffy was a nickname for Elizabeth. I never heard that before and I'm pretty sure it was never mentioned on the show, unless I happened to miss something. Oh well, great chapter! Can't wait for more=)

Author's Response: Well, we figured after 2 zaps with the chip, it wouldn't be that easy for him to go past the headache to figure things that easily. ;) ...Hmm, you'll find out what will happen with Spike's memories soon.

About Elizabeth, it just felt right. She was responding to a romantic letter from a 1880 gentleman, signing it Buffy wouldn't have made the same impact. ;)

I really enjoyed reading Spike and Buffy's thoughts throughout the chapter. The way Spike and Buffy are fighting their attraction to each other is really fun. Loved William's appearance in the chapter. Fantastic update!

Well, saw that coming. Those two are just really pathetic at times. I never understood why they had to ignore their feelings after the spell, but I'm sure they'll open up their eyes soon enough. Mothers are seriously evil sometimes, I feel Buffy's pain. And Spike also made me lose my appetite...lol! Great chapter, can't wait for more=)

Great story. I am assuming that Drusilla is the person behind this. What an interesting way for Buffy to learn about Spike (William). It is funny how Buffy did not make the connection. I am glad you are writing this story. I did not read the other version because it was all human. I think this version will be more interesting. I can't wait to read more.

I haven't finished reading it yet, but from what I've read it's very good.

I liked the developments in this chapter, you've got me really curious as to who the mysterious Mr. Meadows is. I loved Buffy's reaction to the poem and the letter. I can't wait to find out what happens in 1880. Fantastic update!

Love it, I have a feeling this story is going to be another one of my favorites. It's the whole William thing and communicating with someone from the past. I just love that idea. I admit that I did think it was similar to the other story, but after reading the first chapter, I could tell how different it was. I'm sure Buffy will put two and two together and realize that William was Spike. I can't wait until he shows up. I have a feeling things will get interesting when he does. Great chapter=)
