ok, so i know there's already another chapter after this, but i felt the need to review anyways, but i'm gonna make it short!

so, the stern talking to from Joyce...check (i knew it!). i'm glad you had him go out looking for her that night, not later on.

so i thought there was going the be this huge break through with the whole going to her house situation, but it wasn't even her house....very clever! good work :)

and her parents, my words....ass holes!!

and then Harrison again...who or what in the world is that!?!?!?

Well, not happy with breaking my heart over Buffy's traumatic past (& present) now you have to tie my stomach up in knots with this cliffhanger! I think you're evil for doing so but I'll forgive you just as soon as you post an update and tell us - Who Is Harrison?!! My first thought was that he's her son, now I've gotten this idea that he's going to be her dog or something. Please let Spike find her soon so they can resolve all their misconceptions and they can move on to the Spuffiness!!

Oh God! As you said, "even more mysteries to add to the pile"... It's going to be a big pile ;)!

So, that's the reason why Spike was so late... Discussion with Joyce, and a very heated one ;)! It's a very good reason, and it seems that Buffy has already told a lot about herself to Joyce... And it seems the girl needs a strong shoulder.

This chapter could be called "Catch her if you can!", the long run after Buffy. Spike tries to find her, and has two very different encounters, "pro-Buffy" and "versus-Buffy".

First, Willow, Buffy's best friend, who tells exactly what Spike deserves (and resumes all what we think ;)). And the way she talks to Spike: "So just stay away from her"... Brrr: she is a real Knight in a Shining Armor, not just a syndrom ;)!

And second, Buffy's parents, Hank and Isabella (Izzy?). Ahem... "parents", so to say. Because all we learn about Buffy's past... She was kicked out, disinherited by her own parents? And the horrid way they talk about her, the words they use. It's not only they hate Buffy, but it seems their own daughter is dead for them.

So, yes, THE question (ter repetitia): WHAT did Buffy do a year ago? Not only to be rejected by her friends, but also by her family?

And again, we have the mysterious Harrison, "that brute of hers", as daddy dearest names him... It seems, more and more, that Harrison is really Buffy's son. But with you, it's more careful to wait to make conclusions ;) ...

Light keeps on staying on Spike :) I just love your last sentences:

"Instead of wondering what Buffy could have done that was so terrible; Spike found himself wondering how he was ever going to be able to find her so he could apologise.

Whatever she’d done, whatever she hadn’t done; it was in the past now. He needed to leave it there, and so did everybody else."

To keep the past in the past, yes... But I have to admit I have a weakness for happy ends where bad people are punished (very slowly and painfully), but also where truth is revealed, old mistakes are rectified... and of course people who were mistaken beg forgiveness groveling and crying ;)! That little thing Giles names "karma".

I'm sorry to learn your computer broke. I had the same problem a year ago. Horrible :(! No need to say I sympathize. Thanks for this new chapter and to keep on updating regularly :)!

Thank you for sympathising- it makes the pain all the more bearable. That little laptop was a good friend of mine- it's been a long time since I've used a Desktop Computer like my new one- eek! and once again i loved the chapter!!...happy spike saw the light... you know like after his mom practically shined it in his face...but still happy..so where does buffy live?... guess ill have to keep reading...cant wait till next update...which i hope will be soon!...
