A great concept. I enjoyed reading the story ,but I would have thought she (Anne) would have needed more help adjusting to her surroundings. When Spike's mom arrived she seemed almost instantly adjusted and so self actualized that she just started doling out advice. I liked your version of her - don't get me wrong- but she seemed too perfect and it made her somewhat unreal. I loved the last 2 chapters and would have enjoyed reading more about the spuffy side of the story. I really loved the way you incorporated bits of old William with modern Spike. You really captured Williams speech pattern and character quite well. I would love to read more stories you might be inspired to write about William and Buffy.

Author's Response: Thank you for your thoughtful review. I must say that I tend to agree with your comments in theory ,it was only in practice that I made the choices that I did. The first constraint was length of story. The chapters that would have been necessary to flesh out Anne's learning curve would have become the focal point of the story and I was trying to tie it to the events of S5. I used a dramatic "cheat" with having her "speed learning" on the computer with the help of Willow and other aids from Giles. Another reason I didn't want Anne's story become the story (it was about stripping the masks from Spike/William and reflecting ..mirrors..the Scoobies for their own issues.). I intended to use Anne as a deus ex machina and didn't want to fall over the line making her a Mary Sue character in the process. She had to intervene and solve many of the problems in the group without being over the line. Again, I really appreciate your kind comments AND your justified concrit! Thank you for taking the time for both. Kathleen

OH that was the best story... cried my heart out in the beginning. And I love the references to the different Dr Who's and that Taster's Choice commercial that Anthony Stewart was in...Brilliant! Good show, loved it!

Author's Response: No, I don't mean to imply that but if you think about it Spike's helping Buffy did cut Angelus' killing career short and his intervention did help Giles escape intact. I meant that Spike was reminding them that except for Jenny Angelus killed none of them yet did much damage and he could have done terrible damage as well without killing any of them. k
