Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying the story, but please have some patience. I update when I can, but I've recently been dealing with a bad period of my carpal tunnel syndrome and a job where it's not uncommon for me to work 50+ hours in a week. Hell, for two weeks there I didn't have a single day off. So my time/ability to write is currently very limited.

I am always so happy to find this story updated! And I am happy to see that things are softening a bit between Buffy and Spike, especially now that Spike knows the real motives behing Buffy's behavior on their first morning after...

Spike not missing Drusilla as much as he thought should give him to think... Oh and it did. And he had an epiphany now that he loves her.
I can be wrong but: First it was more Buffy wanting William even if he was with Drusilla and now Spike wants to be with Buffy but she doesn't dare to leave Liam.
(I'm glad that Spike knows now why Buffy reacted like she did on their first time together.) Looking forward to what will happen now. William is accepting the status quo now. But some day it won't be enough.

Thanks for getting them to a place where they can be soft and open with one another, though that last exchange threw a nice bucket of cold angst on the warm, fuzzy aftermath of the lovemaking.

And again they have their stolen moments, but now they really mean it. Truly amazing. But perhaps this is only the calm before the storm. Can't wait for more.

very good chapter... I'm still not totally clear about why she can't leave Angel (and is it can't or won't). The only thing that seems to keep her there is a false fairytale or money?? Don't get me wrong, I love this story I'm just a little confused but will trust you. Thanks :)

Okay, I'll bite. What in the world is tying her to Liam? Did she sign a pre-nup with the devil? She can go if she's willing to leave his money behind, right? So, what's the problem. I could understand if she was merely unhappy and needed a roof over her head. But the woman is miserable. He's a sadistic bastard and she's in actual physical danger from him on a daily basis. Maybe I'm showing my working class sensibilities, but is something wrong with working for a living like everybody else?

So, Liam hasn't been around much lately. I hate to say it but while Buffy and Spike are getting along so well, where is he? I don't see this ending well. Great chapter.

I am so glad she finally told him the truth about that night though I am nervous about what is to come.
