Awe to the part where Spike recognized the Buffy was crying for him. A little steppingstone more on the way to bring the old Spike back.
And Buffy.. she knows she did wrong with Spike but will never do the same (if she can help it).
Anya had her points but so did Buffy. Spike is used to hurt by now. I think he'd rather take some pain (that will happen or not) for the feeling not to be alone any longer.

Anya's right a little contact would not be a bad thing, Human or Vampire. Buffy does need help who will she get to help her, Giles or Angel. Angel would be good because hes a Vampire and Spike is a family member. Can't wait for the day to come when Xander finds Spike at Buffy's house that is if he hasn't already found out Spike is missing.

I really like how you are writing Anya-- you are making her very agreeable and likeable. I am hoping Anya's suggestion of Buffy holding Spike while he sleeps comes to pass. Great chapter.

Another really moving chapter. I love the way Anya, Buffy and Dawn work together. Dreading the incursion of Xander and Buffy's discovery of who did this. Thanks gain for this challenging story.

I'm having mixed feelings. In some ways I want to know what kind of injuries were done to Spike, but in others I'm almost glad I don't.

In my head there could only be three people that could have done this to Spike. Angel is one, but he would have wanted Spike to know it was him that was torturing him and why. Xander is a second choice, but as angry as he might be at what happened between Spike and Anya, I just can't see him doing these things to Spike month after month. Dust him, yes. But long term torture, I just can't see it happening.

That leaves us Riley. We know from canon that Riley is a sick twisted rodent. That he would have no problem hurting Spike, because to him Spike isn't human, so no matter what he does it's okay. I guess there's more of Maggie Walsh in Riley that anyone could have ever thought possible. I so want a front row seat to see whatever is done to him in vengence.

On the softer side, I like how Buffy is treating Spike and feeling about her own past actions. I loved her vow to take care of him and never leave him or hurt him again. I also love the practical side of Anya. It would be so much easier if they just shared a bed. :)
