Oh.. that why Buffy got a job, because she was used to take of her mum. If Buffy is right about how servants get treated by the rich she can be happy that the Hartleys have 'new money'.
And getting to the 'right' family (William). Awe, Buffy likes Anne because she reminds her of Joyce? No wonder Spike felt the same way (about Joyce).

Author's Response: To me, Spike seemed to be seeking a "mom" on the show (maybe to make up for the one he lost in LMPTM). He went to Buffy's house, an angry and violent "monster", and yet as soon as she showed him kindness, he broke down completely. Let he mother him and give him hot chocolate while she listened to his problems. Joyce didn't seem a lot older than him, but I always thought his affection for her was very childlike and sweet.
