I love this storey. I love this storey. I love this storey. I really, honestly don't think I can say that enough. I stumbled across it by accident, and I haven't been able to stop reading since.

Your characters are brilliantly written, the action is incredible, and the entire thing falls believably into the Whedon-verse. I am amazed at the detail and skill with which you crafted Spike's past. You are, thus far, the only author I have come across who has attempted such a feat and succeeded admirably. I didn't mind the slight detour from Spuffy-ness, because it ensured a solid basis for (and better understanding of) Spike's character.

I can't wait to see where you take it next. Oh, and did I mention I love this storey? :)*

I'm really heartbroken by this chapter for some reason but I'm not sure why. Can't wait to see where it goes from here because I honestly can't even guess. (Also, a little while ago I posted another chapter of TMWDE, I completely forgot that you offered to beta it for me! If it's alright could I send you the next chapter once I've written it? I know I could really use some help with where I'm heading...) A few thoughts( that I hope are cheerful) before I get to my full review.

First, most fanfic readers are looking for instant gratification when it comes to fiction. I myself started reading ff when I was about 12 and am well aware of the wide variety of any given fandom. That said, fanfic readers aren't going to be the most responsive reviewers when it comes to novel-worthy stories.

Secondly, I think much of the impatience that you've experienced comes not as much from the plot, but the time in between updates. If someone were to just sit and read the story all at once, it would be great-- but when there's no end in sight, and you don't know if the author is ever going to finish or just disappear off the face of the earth, many readers(I miyself have been guity of this) tend to be impatient for a finish. I rarely start a story before it's finished, and I'll admit that I was very worried for a while that this story would just sit in limbo forever. When each chapter is reviewed as it's posted, it's harder as a reader to read through the parts that don't interest them as much. Cuz, lets face it-- ppl want smut. haha.

That all said, I've loved it, and I'm so excited that they've been reunited. I'm especially happy that I was right about him being angry with buffy for daring to look like Elizabeth.

With one door shuts another window opens for a vamp to crawl thru lol. With Spike stalking her in the club I was on egg shells waiting for him to see her face and then the cold hatered of him seeing who she looks like was perfect. Cant wait for more!

I started on this last week and I am in love with this story I have been sneak reading this all day and just got to the last page and scared my hubby by screaming in my chair that Spike is now back in Buffy slayer time.
Part 3 is going to be killer I can just tell I have not been this into Buffy I think since the show ended this story brought back to me all the reasons I loved the show to begin with. I am on thin ice till you post more.

OMG! Wow Spike came upon a totally unknowing Buffy or is it? Ack! The suspense of the whole thing is killing me! It never occurred to me he would show up recognizing her and it not being in the same time line in which she left. I can and do see him totally hating her on site and the conclusions he would jump to in thinking her a relative of some sort. And just the deep hate he would feel on anyone looking remotely like his Elizabeth and reminding him of all that he has lost since losing her. This will be so exciting to watch what you have them do next unfold with so many questions popping up like will Dru know who she is to Spike? Oh I'm offically dying here.

Well I liked book II because you gave a whole new light in the making of William into Spike that no one ever touches on. You dared to write the good the bad and the ugly of becoming a creature of the night and that is what William would become. It shows a great deal of strength as a writer to go with what you want and go with your own ideas to tell the story in your own fashion and I have enjoyed every new page I come across. Plus a lot of people stray from fic's in summer I do not think it has anything to do with how good your Spike saga is. All of your writing is solid and stands on it's own.

I'm excited to see book III and sad to see II end but I loved reading this part. "The stab of longing that followed was a forgotten sensation. It had been so long since he had thought of her in his waking hours. That had been achieved through much hard work and determination. But now, staring at the ghost of her features on this young girl, he felt a frisson of shock, of intense déjà vu. He felt, for a moment, as if he were staring directly into the face of his dead love. His only love." As a reader of your story it made my heart jump with excitement and a giddy race to see what you have happen in your third part of this saga.

I loved part 2...you couldn't have written it better. I actually wanted to see some more but going right into 1997 is fine too. The million dollar question is will she ever remember him...i mean i don't see how she can unless someone actually comes forward and says 'hey your alternative reality self went back into the past and fell in love with william and thats why he is so drawn to you'. I mean she's not going to refall into the portal again....is she? Hmm....it would be like the never ending story...hehe
Also i'm a bit interested on how you'll alter the episode from season 2 and beyond. Its got to be different in some way....I mean Spike is going to have to come out of denial sometime and crack open his eyes and see that this girl is HIS girl.

Even though I missed the Spuffy I do think that you did a wonderful job in Part II of developing the "Spke" persona of our hero :-). This is really a wonderful story and you've done an incredible job of developing both the plot and the characters. I'm eagerly waiting to see how you handle their reunion even though they won't realize that it is a reunion!
