Put it together, did he, I can hardly wait. Our girl so lost clawing her wait, instinctively back home, and to solidly remember first and foremost what Spike really means to her... Even through the delusions and fatigue. And the moment that he knows, how will he react, to already be in love with the girl, to find out that , well, you already did once love that girl. I can only imagine. Words don't really express how much I love it.

I didn't say that I want you to change the plot. I already mentioned a few times that I understand that you made Spike the way he is in your fic, because you had your own plot to follow. I just said that "I thought vampires have photographic memory", that's all.

Mmmm four years later now. Or not.. the Buffy that made the journey is in 2001. So the Buffy of 1997 can't know Spike and she looks different then Spike remembers. Not a pleasant journey back. I wonder if she came back in Sunnydale or apart of it. ~ *wonders if this 2001-Spike had known Buffy in the past too* (Time paradox etc.)
Oh he did, otherwise he wouldn't recognize the bracelet. Oops. He got sent away; well he has a lot to think about now.

You serious?! I *so* would've checked them all! At least just out of curiosity.

You know, if there's something that you often notice in a person, and even if you haven't seen/remembered it for a long time, if you saw it again, it could suddenly just pop out of your memory and everything would piece together.

But I realize that if Spike found out that Buffster is Elizabeth, you wouldn't exactly be able to set the III part of your story in 5th/6th season.

P.S. I think I saw that Buffy's real name is Elizabeth on Wikipedia, and also heard it somewhere a long time ago.

Author's Response: On Wikipedia her name is listed as Buffy Anne Summers. ;-) I think what you read is probably a creation of fandom. I've known my husband for seven years, and I would not be able to tell you how many moles he has on his body, where they are, or what they look like. If I went a century without seeing him, I would still love him; but I seriously doubt I would remember exactly what he looked like without the aid of a photograph. :shrug: So, I guess we're just going to have to disagree about that.

Man to be there in that moment Spike realizes the woman the same woman he has always loved is the same girl returning to him alive and in the current time. How will they both deal? How do you wrap your mind around the fact the girl you loved in your former life is the girl in the future you tried to hate. This is just too good it is like I am on the edge of a cliff here hanging on your next words to come.

How very intriguing. You've taken us to Season 5, and given us shades of early, early Season 6 - where by this time Spike is chipped and unrequitedly loving Buffy - and she returns (this time) from the past ...... plonk! You finished Book II with vampire Spike seeing Buffy in Sunnydale for the first time and recognising her...... the likeness to his girl of over a century and his lifetime ago - and acting viciously as a result. Now, cut to this opener of Book III and she looks upon him as Elizabeth of just yesterday when she accepted his proposal, and he looks upon her as again, William in love, but now with all of Spike's vampiric existence within his tortured psyche, as once again he sees the bracelet ......

And, just as in Season 6, those damned Scoobies spoil a pivotal moment between William and Elizabeth, Spike and Buffy.

A wonderful opener, setting us off-tangent right from the start albeit with familiar scenes adding to the mix. But amid the mayhem they still see each other. The Spike-hating Buffy who disappeared is not of the same mind as this Buffy who has returned. This lovelorn vampire still retains his demonic edge: will he relish the thought that his natural enemy now has recall of a completely different him, of William?

Author's Response: Thank you so much! :-) I had a lot of people (including my beta) tell me how shocked they were that I jumped ahead so far at the beginning of Part III. I think most people expected me to continue the story from 1997. And the story will offer some explanations of what happened during that time, but they'll unfold slowly over the course of the next few chapters.

With every new post of this I fall in love with this story more and more it is a wonderful epic.
