Loved the update!! So, what is Buffy up to? Did what Angel and Dawn said get through to her? And what happened to Spike? Is he still on his quest for a soul? Maybe already on his way to Africa? It was hard to like Buffy in this chapter, it can't be easy to write, but I thought it was very true to character. I'm totally with Dawn on the part, that she has to acknowledge her own part in the mess - and she has all the help of a fully developed conscience. But than in all her defensiveness she's right on one point. Having a relationship with someone, who is like a child in the moraldepartment - it wouldn't be easy, what kind of partnership can it be. And you can't just blow over it all with 'If you love someone...' So it's true that Spike never needed the soul to feel and love, he didn't need it to cross the line between good and evil - let's face it a lot of people with souls are evil, he needed it to get the perspective, to understand that the end doesn't justify the means. You are doing a great job working that out. So I hope Spike gets his soul, just to make him less helpless and lost. And I hope Buffy sees that she did a poor job helping the man she supposely loves to find his way, acknowledging his struggle. In stead she punished him for something he couldn't really help happening and still benefited from what she blames him for. Repentance required, Buffy, big way!
Okay. That got kind of long. But obviously I really love your story :-)

Phew, I'm definitely in the mood for some resolution of this big looming decision. Will she stay or will she go? Will things be alright and if so how. You've definitely got me guessing. Love the story :)

Wow, this chapter was more than worth the wait! I'm at a loss for words, and trying really hard to resist screaming "THAT'S WHAT I WANTED TO TELL STUPID JOSS!!!!"

Oh hun! I'm still reading, no worries (although this review has gotta be short because I just had surgery and my painkillers are kicking in). Hope your health is better, that sounds awful! I most definitely do not want a horse to fall on me. Seriously, get well and take as much time as needed to get back into the swing of writing-- although I can't say that it wasn't pleasant seeing this update on the Recently Added page. It was excellent, and you are remarkably great at getting these characters so realistic to how they were portrayed on the show, even in these fantastically different conditions. Can't wait for the next update, but I shall if necessary. :)

I'm really liking this story. The more I read the more I want to know. I'm really curious about Spike going to Angel too. Hmm... and I'm glad Dawn's ok.

About time Buffy starts to realize a few things and I am glad it is Angel is the one breaking threw a few of her ideas on right and wrong and how she herself played into a lot of Williams and Spikes very problems

the whole concept that Canon refused to see - hell, Buffy & Co. were bloody blind for at least two series ....... and it's true! The soul became the big excuse for blame, running away, hiding behind. I'm better than you because .........

Human nature. We all throw stones, but in the opposite direction to our own glass houses. Now, is Buffy going to take this time-bomb of info on board, or is she going to go back to her ostrich stance?

Will she accept that it is not the draw of a claim, but that other thing ..... l - l - lo- will she admit it, if only to herself. And Angel's reasoning about the soul? Can logic finally reach the Slayer's muddled parts?

Author's Response: That aspect of BtVS canon annoyed the heck out of me for the very reasons you mentioned. I think, in a way, this chapter was me working out my frustrations about that. lol. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope you like the new chapter as well. :)

FINALLY SOMEONE THAT IS FUCKING SMART AND ISNT DELUDED ABOUT SPIKE BEING GOOD!!! i LOVE this story and am SOOOOO happy that u updated. i CANT believe that its angel that is finally making sense and that he understands that spike is really good, unlike buffy and giles, wat dumbass. spike has been trying to be better and they refused to see it and im glad that angel is actually talking some sense into them. i REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope that buffy listens and finally sees the truth in wat angel is saying about spike and that she sees that he doesnt need a soul to be good, that he already is. also i hope that she admits to herself that theyre meant to be together and finally gives into being with him and finds him. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE update as soon as u can, im DYING to read how buffy reacts to this news. THANX SOO MUCH!!
