I can understand your point. But not so long ago, Buffy was not so different from Spike.

In the first chapter she thinks:

"The whole experience had been a wake-up call for Buffy who had been a spoilt brat for most of her childhood. The old Buffy would have been ashamed of her mother for taking such a meager job, but the wiser girl she was now was grateful that she still had one parent who would do anything to make sure she was at least fed and clothed – inexpensively clothed – but clothed nonetheless".

If Buffy has changed, to become "wiser", why wouldn't Spike deserve the same luck?

great chapter. i wish some super rich and nice boy comes and starts datig buffy. maby spike will then relise what an asshole he is and what buffy realy means to him. hope he makes himself sick with jeolusy,barstard

Oh wow... great start. I didn't expect to see so much packed in on the first chapter but this is not disappointing at all. In fact I love the speed of story - and I'm sure I'll love every subsequent chapters after this too. Great work - keep it up!
