Spike was so sexy in this chapter beating the crap out of Lindsay. Lol He finally showed his true colors. Gunn gets major props from me for just standing back. :-D

ok, your description of MREs was so funny (especially the constipation). Again, I was never in the armed services myself, but have heard so much AND I've actually eaten MREs - my dad thought it would be fun when we were teens to "show" us what he had to go through when he was in the Army. I believe MREs have improved since then but hey military government issued food is NEVER anything to plan a cordon bleu restuarant around! But my favorite was an unidentified can that when opened contained a VERY HARD round soda cracker, an equally hard and round slab of chocolate, a small "tin" of peanut butter and, here's what really cracked me up, a packet containing a stick of gum, utensils and TOILET PAPER! So the food was really bad, but hey, the military truly does think of everything! It was great fun (even if not so tasty).

Yippee that Spike got to pummel Lindsey and he can't do anything aboout it! What fun! I can't wait for the next chap or two to see how they handle being alone in the barracks and still fighting their attraction. I can picture buffy laying into him with a tirade of choice words to vent her frustration over his last couple of weeks of ignoring her and then yelling out she was his for all the world to here and I can't wait to see what Spike's response is and if he'll get a chance to use his condoms!

Such a wonderful tale told by a fantastic story teller! Thanks so much for the laughs and the memories! oh and I loved the "uniforms are like monets" reference - so very true!

Spike going psycho on Lindsey and basically admitting his jealousy out loud was awesome, and something I didn't really see coming. I guess as an excuse, he could say that it meant she was his soldier, or his responsibility, or something. But we know the truuuuuuuuth!

And I loved Buffy and Spike's unspoken communication with Angel's letter. You described it so well, I actually felt like I could see the whole thing in my head.
