Oh-open mouth; insert foot. Spike over and over again with ample opportunity to charm and woo her, then Buffy, not to be outdone, opened her mouth really wide so that she could get both feet in. How much better off their bodies would be if only their mouths stopped working. I think some of their parts are going to have a coup and overthrow their brains. What was up with Oz' cryptic answer about whether he had a girlfriend or not? Is he with a certain redhead? And Gunn's “You’re holding her dog tags hostage for a KISS? Brother... you are so damn tired.” made me LMAO. I just love him!!! If they don't wise up soon though, the entire unit is going to be playing matchmaker, just so they can get some peace. Great chapter!! Looking forward to the next.

Really adored the lingerie shop scene and the way she is attracted to him but WANTS to resist and has to keep reminding herself of her reasons. Though she was unintentionally bad to him at the end...
I also loved the three guys' interaction and Gunn's remark : “I’ll be damned. THAT’S where all the glass in my pictures went.”, it really had me laughing loud !
It seems we girls mostly have a liking for bad guys (not entirely too bad, though), since a good number of us are persistently checking up for updates of this story AND some people even write them ;-) !! But then, confronting characters keep us on the edge, waiting for banter and snarky remarks and sexual tension and it feels soooo good...
PS : Gunn with afro white-dyed hair !!!!! Naughty you !

I loved this chapter. The banter at the beginning was great and Buffy sticking her foot in her mouth was a perfect way to get her thinking Spike is human. I really like how Oz & Gunn are working together to set them up too - I think you need to get Faith & Willow in on that action as well. With four of them working together, there's no way they can resist each other for long.

The scene in the store is hilarious and so...them. What follows is completely necessary. Spike is finally told in no uncertain terms exactly what is wrong with his attitude and Buffy, by hurting him, is forced to realise that perhaps there is a reason for his behaviour.

Author's Response: Giggles, glad you're enjoying it sweety. Dog tags are two, small metal plates that have the service members name, social security number, blood type and religious preference imprinted on them. Soldiers are issued two and must/should wear them at all times. During the early American wars, when soldiers died in the field and their bodies could not be retrieved until later, other soldiers would take one dog tag and stick it between the two front teeth of the body so the body could be identified later upon retrieval. Due to either rapid decomposition or injuries so severe it prevented recognition of who the person was, is the main reason for it. The second dog tag is taken back to superiors so they know who has died and that they need to go back for the body. SOunds morbid I know, but that's its history.
