I love this fic! I spent the night before last catching up through chapter 9, and I was so glad when I saw a new chapter posted last night! First off, I *adore* the banner; it's ever so drool-worthy!!! I love how Buffy was checking him out in previous chpaters, and how protective Spike is of the females when he hears about Lindsey's rep. I loved the pugil scene-- go girl! And what a good guy Spike is to really build confidence in her. And can I say what a great guy Gunn is! Who wouldn't want him as their best bud? The scene between Spike and the kids was great, as was the run to the corner market for feminine hygiene products! I don't know what it is about pons and pads that make men go all weird?!? I've been married 13 years, and my husband still hates to buy the stuff at certain stores if he feels it's too publicly displayed. lol.
It's interesting that Buffy's main reason for re-buffing him is that he's coming on too strong in the sexual aspect, but after he screws her and leaves, I guess I can't blame the girl. The office scene was hot, Hot, HOT!!! But not even spending some time kissing her before leaving was weird. And then no attempt to find her afterward~ I don't know if it would have been impossible to track her down in the military. Wish she could have expressed to him what was turning her off~ the cocky attitude. Then maybe he could have dropped it sooner. Seems like when he was drunk with his buddies and wallowing, and when he was so protective of her by pummeling the crap out of Lindsey, we see that there are true feelings, hiding behind the wall of hurt. But when she ignores him and tries to make him jealous, she, in essence, is acting just as cocky. Like a supermodel~ You want it? Want it? Want me? Can't have it!! evil grin.... But I do find it interesting, and a great way to increase the sexual tension, to see how turned on Spike gets when he gets Buffy all riled up. Loved the cammo paint trading in the trench, and how both Faith and Gunn are on to her. Very cute. Now, I can't wait for more!!! Soon, please?

I'm uber excited to hear how much your enjoying this story, cuz honestly, this has been by far the most fun to write thus far. Oh yeah, men and tampons aren't mixy things normally, my husband gets squicked out too - silly boy. Yeah, that basic training experience was a ride from hell, giggles, and of course graduation day was a ride of another kind. As the situation in reality would go, Buffy is in school in Texas and of course Spike has no choice but to report to Ft Crumb in NY, thus, there really isn't a way for them to see each other. These two are just so much alike that they drive each other crazy but at the same time brings them together - they'll learn, they'll have to or kill each other in the process, giggles. This chapter has it all. The reflections at the start are a perfect set-up for that gorgeous, banter-heavy interlude in the trench. The camo paint? Absolute sublime genius!

As regards the end....I think I'm in as much of a daze as Buffy. Burning hot and again, so vivid.

I loved how Faith and Gunn were working together to play matchmaker for Spike and Buffy. And WOW!!! What a deliciously naughty Spuffy love scene in ladies bathroom... the Spuffy lovin' just keeps getting hotter, and hotter with each new interlude. ;-) Tell the muse to keep up the great work! Loved the song Faith and Buffy dance to. Fantastic chapter!

Spike and Buffy swapping camo paint was so cute! I had a feeling it would be a dead giveaway when she got back from the field.

I have multi-tab browsing with mozilla, so I opened the youtube link in a new tab while reading your fic in the other. It was so cool, like some kind of raunchy multi-media experience. Thanks so much for including it!

I actually kind of thought Spike was cheating a little at first, with wanting another kiss after he had already gotten one in the trench. I guess a kiss is just a kiss - unless, uh, it's Spike going down on you in a nightclub ladies room. *fans self* God bless his creative interpretation of the terms of his and Buffy's bet.

I love seeing Spike in strategy mode, thinking a little more with the big head than the 'lil one. Like any girl could resist coming back for more after *that*. Because of the quickie nature of their first encounter, and Spike's overall attitude, I bet Buffy was totally pegging Spike as a wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am type of lover. Something tells me her introduction to Spike's ummm...oral talents is making her rethink that.

Just when I think this story can't possibly get better, it does. Not sure where you live, but if it's close enough, maybe I could come over and clean your house/babysit your kids/ whatever so you have more time to work on this? :-D
