What a satisfying and utterly funny ending to this amazing chapter! I missed the cleverness of this story, thanks for posting! I can't wait to see how the reunion will go...

Author's Response: Thanks survenante! Really jazzed that you liked this one. Still not exactly "puppies and rainbows," but at least they're all together, right?

That was delightful. The image of the pulsating horror of Melvin racing to safety with Spike and Andrew as riders was both exciting and hilarious. Melvin's surfer speak is charmingly incongruous, and everyone heaving at the sight of him makes me laugh. Poor thing.

Buffy channeling Nancy is a strange new development. I loved the detail in Buffy gathering her outfit, and this line was wonderfully in character and girly: "A wool military topcoat completed the outfit, and Buffy grunted as she belted it snugly to her waist. She ignored a sudden, embarrassing urge to locate a mirror."

This was another exciting, well written chapter. The reunion at the end was an excellent place to leave it, and Melvin's last line made me laugh out loud. There won't be much time for accusations and arguments with Kennedy on the horizon and Dawn's gadget in play. I'm looking forward to what happens next.

Author's Response: Thanks again, BP!! LOL, yeah I was hoping that scene would work for people. Spike's not exactly Prince Charming galloping in on his white steed, but in this world I guess its close enough ;-P And so glad you picked up on Buffy's little Nancy incident. I liked imagining her climbing into an old Soviet army getup too. Costume changes = lotsa fun.

What an idiot, I even wrote Nancy twice and didn't make the connection until I read my own posted review. Her childhood was violent and isolated, is it any wonder she's such a psychotic nut job?

This story started off strong and has just kept building. The suspense and adventure are deftly handled, and richly detailed scenes paint a vivid picture. Each of the characters is lovingly captured, and their actions and reactions are justified and wonderfully drawn. The plot is fascinating and you keep adding unforeseen twists and turns.

Having a power mad Kennedy as the villain of the piece makes me happy, and I love the psychotically cheerful Nancy. The giant, polite demon has made me laugh several times, as has your spot on Andrew. Let's hope that Willow's mistaken about his not making it through this scrape. Giles and Buffy are sharp contrasts to these humorous moments. This sad, broken Giles is heart wrenching, and Buffy's confused melancholy about Spike has my heart hurting for her, too.

The beginning of this chapter, with Nancy and her hidden garden, was beautifully written, and I can't wait to learn what she has to do with the rest of the story. What a wild ride you've created here.

Author's Response: Thanks for the great review, Brunettepet! I'm so chuffed that your enjoying this - has been an absolute blast to write, so far. Towards the end of the show, I could totally sense that Kennedy was on the opposite path from characters like Spike and Andrew, and that power would quickly corrupt her if the stories had continued. I'm glad other fans feel that way, too. And I'm really happy that you think the Giles/Buffy arc is working. Next to her and Spike, I think that theirs was the most unresolved relationship in the series. Most of all, thanks for the kind words about my OC's! The regular characters are so strong - I've been struggling really hard to come up with a few new folks that could hold their own against them. -Jarod.

"...like a pile of melted grasshoppers."-- Need I say more, and do I want to know why you have any concept as to what melted grasshoppers are like. Is it even possible to melt grasshoppers? Okay, I digress, another wonderful chapter. Your Goo Demon is rapidly becoming one of my favorite characters, not to mention the way he's so sarcastic he makes Spike seem totally sincere. And the whole comedic reunion at the end was totally priceless. So glad there was an update today and I can't wait for the next one!

Author's Response: Thanks BuffyRat! I hear they're actually a delicacy in certain parts of the world that I will never, ever visit... ;-) But seriously, thanks for the great compliment. Mel is becoming one of my favorite characters to write, too, so I'm relieved that some people actually like him.

Well, every psychotic mastermind has some kind of traumatic childhood. Truly a smart little girl despite so much. I suppose you gotta give people like that a bit of credit. But Buffy may be sick, and Andrew and Spike are still missing, and I couldn't tell you what someone should do first in that situation. I hope Xander can figure it out. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Yeah, Nancy is kind of a twisted pretzel - sorta the ying to Kennedy's yang. Thanks for your review!!

Another great chapter. You wouldn't consider posting this to your LJ would you? Or at least posting that you've updated? It's so much easier to keep up with wips when they all pop up on your flist... Okay, I'm being lazy, I'll keep checking for updates.

Author's Response: Hey constance! Thanks for the compliment. I took your advice and am now posting to LJ as well. Cheers!

Gotta love an ancient hell demon that sounds like he came straight outta 90s California. Very much one of my favorites. But Spike is currently being danced upon by a bunch of little girls and Andrew is somewhere unknown, and I still really gotta go to bed right now. More for tomorrow, I guess. Great story.

So Andrew summons a big mean demon, and pretty much dooms him to use vaudville to distract the enemy slayers? That is priceless. I love it.

Author's Response: Haha! What a great way of putting it, BuffyRat! Thanks!!!

"And, this is going to sound a little crazy, but I'm pretty sure that..." Always cuts out at the good parts. Though she did pretty much nail all the important parts throughout. And Nancy is out and about, I cannot imagine that ever being a good thing. What these men will do for Buffy. :)

Author's Response: Yeah, poor Willow. Even though she is doing some really crazy, magical stuff right now, I kinda wanted to bring a little more of her "hacker" persona into this. I guess the main idea is that (being a "rank amateur") she really screwed up big-time when she brought Buffy back from the dead. I like the notion of her as this uber-powerful being that is full of all kinds of human weaknesses.

That was a mighty filled chapter. Andrew's Star Wars influenced dream was quite fun, not to mention Giles growing impatience with the whole mental text messaging. How perfect that Nurse Nancy was a creature wreaking havoc in the initiative, as if Spike didn't already have enough reasons to hate her. And Buffy finally knows that he's here... Room for a happily ever after, but I wonder what comes first for them... Really enjoyed this one.

Author's Response: Thanks again, BuffyRat! So glad you thought the Andrew scene here worked. I was a little nervous that it wouldn't click for people. Also, this was the first "real" reunion scene in the story, and it was so fun to write. Happily ever after? Hmmm.... I guess anything could happen, lol.

So our Willow knows somethings up an is traveling through some of these alternate times? Seems to be a touch more sci-fi creeping through this fic than I generally gravitate toward, but I do wonder. Enough for tonight, but more for later.

Author's Response: You rock BuffyRat. Thanks for sticking it out so far. There are a few sci-fi elements in the beginning. I think I just wanted to explore how technology sometimes creates a strange distance between people. It's definitely a theme in Clocks, reflecting the separation and alienation that all the Scoobies are experience after the end of Chosen. As they become adults and their world seems increasingly empty of magic, there begin to wall themselves off in gadgetry and artifical networks and power trips to make up for it. All except for Buffy, of course. I don't want to ruin anything, but I will say you may begin to see some gradual, but intern shifts over the next few chapters. After all, doesn't life come down to the simple things in the end - to wood and fire, love and magic? To blood? I think so. Anyway, thanks for all you're lovely reviews. It was really kind of you to send them, and I hope you stick with me to the end.

Well, that was a few fun and random scenarios. A slayer after her blood and a demon trained like a slayer. Can't say I blame her for being annoyed. Hope they find the bottom to this.
