Just came to read this via the nomination at SunnyD awards and am enthralled. I likely will review from lace to place but must say this is the most unusual treatment of Something Blue I've read and it is fascinating. Very nicely done twist here. Your voices are perfect.

On an odd note (Jung would love it) just as I was reading the segment where Spike was singing the CD I had in the player began to play from Loreena McKennitt's An Ancient Muse....the track? The English Ladye And The Knight! I couldn't have planned it better.

Back to reading this well crafted story.

LOL I was tired of typical Something Blue fics, and got fed up while actually watching the episode - but then it hit me: What if every shock Spike got, the info stored in his brain just came spewing out? Wow! Buffy's new problem should definitely make things even more interesting in good ol' Sunnydale... loved this new twist. The picnic was fun too, I really enjoyed how things went south for Riley. :D
I checked out the video, Buffy was right it was a sad song and I could totally imagine Spike singing it. Great chapter!

Great chapter! I loved that Buffy didn't fall for the "beautiful girl" line this time--that really bugged me on the show. Yay for headaches, lol. I laughed at the sexy Spike part, Riley sooo needed to get shot down for that little speech. Poor girl though, it's going to suck having all of her thoughts on display--although I'm sure good things will come of it, along with the bad. Can't wait for more! ;)

Author's Response: Yeah, that 'beautiful girl' line was so lame (I went back and watched it, she looked like she was on drugs! Totally blank look..which is what I would have given myself). Not all of her thoughts will be on display...just certain ones ;)
