Spike's revulsion at seeing the bruises he's put on Buffy was beautifully realized. His shock and dismay were in character. Buffy realizing that he needs to apologize and make amends was lovely, and the quiet bath scene was sensual and calming in the aftermath of this upset.

Willow's research skills really came to the fore, and I love that all three women jumped on Giles as soon as he walked into the Magic Box. He had no chance to regroup, so it was believable when he immediately caved. Buffy's feelings of betrayal were palpable, and I can't wait to read what she tells Spike. I think being hurt and flouncing out the door with a snide comment will not be the way he expresses his displeasure.

Thanks for more of this entertaining, emotional story.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! Spike was definitely upset at seeing what he'd done to Buffy, and horrified at the idea that he could have unknowingly done worse. Giles really didn't have a chance when he was unexpectedly confronted by Buffy and Willow (and Anya, who just said what they were thinking), and the story had to come out. As for Spike showing his displeasure, no, he won't be flouncing. :)

Damn girl, you slid that Cruciamentum in there really-really well. I couldn't for the life of me figure out last chapter where you were gonna go with the whole drugged thing. I'd totally forgotten it might be the canon explanation - boy do I feel 'DUH', lmfao. That was so cool though, I really enjoyed reading the whole chapter and especially over poor Spike an dhis reaction after discovering he'd hurt her. Now you have me wondering about the vampire she'll face and what Spike will have to say about all this - he'll be sooooooo super pissed, I'm sure. That is... if he isn't the vampire that's been procured, which I'm thinking he isn't. Awesome chapter boo - can't wait for the next.

Awesome! I was wondering if Giles would notice the bite and if Buffy would just make it out to be a result of her being weak, like some random vampire did it. I love how protective Spike is of Buffy. They are so good together. There is love there. It's not just vampire/slayer hot sex. They really care for each other and need each other. I want to see Spike throttle Giles. That would be fun. Your writing is so enjoyable and marvelous.
