i guess now it's buffy's turn to save the day. Good thing Spike didn't get that gem surgically implanted or something...then things could get a little more gruesome. However, I like Spike's foot to stay intact.
I would like Spike to hold up to his promise that if it came between Buffy and Dru he would choose her too. Hope to see the next chapter soon!!!

Author's Response: Yeah, surgically implanted would have been a bad idea. I'm sure Buffy and Spike would also like Spike's foot to stay intact... Buffy might be doing a little day saving, and Spike might be doing a little choosing, but neither will play out exactly like that. Thanks for reviewing!

Buffy really stood her place; maybe Giles understood in the end that there won't be a discussion when it comes to Spike. :)
Still it's bad that Angelus knows about the Gem.
Sh**t - very bad. Clever in a way to try to cut his foot off. Still bad from Spike's point of view.

Angelus' presents are awfully grisly, but all they're doing is working Buffy up. I enjoyed Buffy siccing Joyce on Spike, just to get a little breather. She's a manipulative little thing when she wants to be.

Giles linking the dead girls to Spike wasn't too far off the mark. I wonder if Angelus was hoping to out the vampire. I guess I'll find out the big plan soon enough.

Thanks for updating this. I'm really enjoying the unfolding story. I'm looking forward to Giles and the gang's reaction to Spike's not so secret any more identity.

Author's Response: I think Angelus could care less if Buffy's friends knew about Spike. He's more just using spikes to mess with Buffy and get Spike's attention. I'm glad you liked the chapter, and thanks for reviewing!

Thank you, Anya, always the subtle one of the group. So, I'm guessing Giles doesn't know much about what William the Bloody looks like, this should go over well, but all Buffy has to do is bring up the Cruciamentum, he owes her one. And I just realized something, your Spike doesn't talk much in this story. I don't think I've ever seen that before...lol! He usually can't shut up, or has foot in mouth disease, this one is refreshing. Angelus is just as disgusting as ever, I can't wait until he's finally dust, Drusilla as well. I'm actually hoping Spike will be the one to take her out. I was happy to see another update so soon after the last one=)

Author's Response: Yeah, the Cruciamentum is something Buffy will bring up. Well, I wouldn't say that Spike doesn't talk much, but maybe he does tend to be less wordy than canon Spike. (Weird, that you're the second one to mention this in a review for this chapter, LOL. Maybe it was more noticeable because he didn't have as much of a part in this chapter.) I used to like this when it still had a plot. Right now it feels like this story is going nowhere. Yes, there is the big threat of Angelus, but it is sitting there doing nothing. Buffy and Spike are rarely seen interacting with anyone but each other, which gets kind of boring. Especially with Buffy being all that philosophical about the same things over and again, wouldn't it make more sense when she got confronted about it? Like by Giles or Joy? It's really sad, because I very much liked how the story started out.

Author's Response: I'm sorry that you think the story isn't going anywhere. That wasn't my intention, so I'm sorry if it's coming off that way and you're no longer enjoying it. Angelus isn't really doing nothing. I can tell you that he is doing something next chapter, there will be confrontation with Giles in the next chapter, and the final battle in the next chapter.

That sounds like a second gem of Amara. Or at the very least, they've figured out that Spike has it, though they probably knew that already. It's just been a while since I read the first 80 chapters, not always perfect on the details. :) And Buffy and the blood every Saturday thing. I like how its the way its still a bit of a business transaction thing when they are no longer in business has come to bother her. Always figure these things out at the most inopportune moments. Nice touch there. So very glad to see another chapter. Looking forward to more, please update soon!

Now Angelus knows about Spike's gem..on a chain "string" wrapped around his ankle..

Enjoyed... and worried about Buffy and their Saturday Blood Ritual could she be trying to end it .. and what if going to be the effect on Spike and his need of her blood..
