Good to get an update on Angelus and Dru, though I still have no idea what exactly they are up to. At some point, I imagine all hell will break loose. Do hope Buffy has a chance to confess her feelings before then. Always glad to see more of this story.

I love that this Buffy has her eyes wide open, she's not romanticizing the Spike she's in love with. His past is part of what makes him whole, and she may not love what he's done, but she has to accept it. It bodes well for them being able to build a life together. It was wonderful getting into her head as she pondered her feelings for him.

Angelus with a plan is very worrisome indeed! I loved the image of Dru all dressed up for a road trip.

Author's Response: Yes, Buffy definitely realizes what she's getting into with Spike. She has to take all of him or take none of him. And glad you liked Dru! Juliet Landau has such classic features, and I thought Drusilla would look perfect all dressed in the "old way" for going for a car ride. And I can totally see Dru doing it, since she almost dresses out of another time anyway.

Why does this chapter make me think things are going to go really bad really soon. Loved it and more please soon.

Fisrt of all, sorry for not having reviewed (and even read up until now) the previous chapters. I was in a rush with RL so I couldn't keep up with the updates. I will, however, be keeping up to date from now on. With that said, I love this fic more and more by the chapter, the ways you explain things and the route our couple has to take are pretty innovative and interesting. I'd like to add a couple things to my previous review.

I absolutely love your characterisation of Buffy: since things started in a different way than in BTVS, she's far more open minded, without it being unrealistic.

And, I know I'm going a little off topic, but I'd like to clarify what I said about taking matters in your own hand. An example: suppose you owe money to a man. He comes to collect, but you don't have them. Then he starts to make lewd suggestions and pushing you around. You understand he wants to rape you and you panic: you grab a lamp and hit him 3-4 times killing him. Shouldn't you have been more careful? After all he hadn't harmed you... yet.
At this point, since he didn't have time to cause you injury and there wasn't anybody around to see, how do you demonstrate you didn't kill hm intentionally because of the money? Should you have let him hit you before defending yourself just to have a proof that he wanted to rape you ???

So is it right Buffy didn't want Spike to go after the man who is probably going to rape another girl in the future, since the police couldn't?

Is it wrong Spike defended Buffy by killing (ok "killing" maybe was a little too much but he IS a vamp) the man who was certainly gong to do the same to her or worse?

Author's Response: Well, even if Spike did do something to the guy, Buffy wouldn't let Spike kill him. So, I suppose there's every chance that the guy might do the same thing again to a girl, even if Spike bit him. Assuming the guy wasn't so terrified that he never set foot in a dark alley again. It might be wrong that Spike killed the man after Buffy. Maybe it was an illegal pre-emptive self-defense. But Buffy ultimately had nothing to do with it, so it's all on Spike. She'll have to decide whether she's okay with Spike doing anything to criminals. Everyone has their own answers of right and wrong. In some way, that's part of the conflict that Spike and Buffy will always have.
