I was late reading because of RL so I missed two chapters; added to favs now so I'll notice the updates earlier. :)
I know now where to put the time line (roughly).
William was brave, going unarmed against the Vikings. Sadly he couldn't save Tara and fell into slavery too. Change of location, huh? On to Northumbria now. :)

Author's Response: going further north than that:) Lindesfarne is in Northumbria, William was brave, and caring. more soon

three slaves and a pile of gold and silver would not have been a good haul for a viking sweetie.. denmark and norway are not that close to the british isles that it would be worth it ...

Author's Response: OK you didn't leave any name, so I can't answer you personally. Lindesfarne is somewhere between 5 days and three weeks sail out from Norway, there were Vikings based in Orkney, Shetland Scotland and York in this time period, To go Viking meant to go raiding, The nOrthmen were also traders and business men who traveled as far as Russia and Istambul. there was a distinct trade route up both the east and west coast of the UK during the viking periodThe Isle of Mann, Dublin and The Wirral on the west Coast, York and ther cities on the east. Lindesfarne was hit quite a few times, with the monks seeking shelter with the King of Nothumbria. Where i live in Britain is two days sailing to Lindesafrne and four days out of bergen, as proved regulaly. a haul like that, gold silver and slaves would be considered a good summer's pay. The Curdale hoard weighs 40 Kg ( about 90 lb) that could be carried easily by two or three men, hack silver was used as currency, and a penny weight (there are two hundred and forty to the LB) would buy you 16 chickens so the Curdale is 345,600 chickens worth, about £ 172800 in today's money:) $that's $3456000 so not bad for a couple of months work. Slaves were expensive as well and ransoms would have been done in silver.

I'm highly curious as to who the other woman is in the boat....is it Elizabeth???? Being a man of the cloth (most likely vehemently opposed to warfare of any kind) William could only do so much. I'm surprised he did as much as he did! Great work so far and I'll definitely follow this one...*settles into a comfy chair to await the coming chapters*

Author's Response: William hasn't taken vows yet, but was considered useless by his brothers, so he was brave to try. you may have to wait a week for the update, but I will do my best

Ooh, I wonder what will happen now that they're heading towards the Vikings home. It was courageous of William to try to save Tara, at least they're together now, it would've been much worse for him if he had to go through not knowing what happened to her. I'm looking forward to more.

Author's Response: poor Tara must be terrified as well, they would have been brought up on stories about what happened to Saxons who were taken
