This was another rich, emotional chapter. Anne's insistence on accompanying William to see his intended worked beautifully in forging yet another friendship between these Saxons and Norsemen. Her reaction to the warmth and genuine friendships William has made was pitch perfect. Lady Anne is going to find a loving family home with these two.

William and Buffy's wordless reunion was romantic and giddy and erotic. They have a lot to talk about, but there will be time enough for that after the wedding. William's shock and happiness at his daughter was a thing of beauty, mirroring Xander's reaction to Anya's presentation years before. I loved Anne's ‘You cuddle your lady, I’ve got the baby,’ she said determined not to let go of the child. " She's finally going to have a daughter-in-law and grandchildren that she can be proud of.

Ah, what a reunion to remember! Love the detail. I am so glad that William claimed his daughter prior to the big feast. Oh, I cannot even begin to go into every detail of why this story is such a delight but you continue to keep me spellbound. :D :D :D :D I absolutely loved that Spike got to claim his daughter :) :) :) that was so sweet and adorable and nice circularity after having introduced it earlier in the story with Anya and Xander. I also thought it was nice that they had sex again after they had been reunited but before the wedding. Something more true about it than if he had had to wait until some ceremony ritualized a bond that was already there.

I should have reviewed before. I just have to tell you how much I enjoy this story. Most of all, I like the pacing of this story. The history and age you're writing is very interesting to read. The way you write the love scenes is so spot on. It's always great to see an update from you. I don't check on aregular basis anymore, that way I have more to read at one time, but always look for your story. Thanks for writing and sharing with us.

But I think the thing I enjoyed the most was how much respect and love the Nordsmen showed William and his mother.

I admit, I was wondering how the introduction of Nordlys would go... not that William would be anything but delighted, but how it would go over with the Saxons if Buffy claimed Nordlys as William's in front of them. Glad that's out of the way. And glad Anne finally got to meet Buffy.

Yes, it was worth the wait! At first I felt a twinge of disappointment that the reunion was an informal sort strictly with the Norse in attendance, rather than at the ceremony itself with both sides present, but after a re-read I heartily agree with your choice to stage it as this informal reunion just as it was. It "took the edge off" ::cough cough:: of the dramatic tension and addressed some important issues, such as Nordlys, that were rightly held with only the Norse present.

The ceremony and the Saxon reactions can now have their own moment to shine without the "William-Buffy reunion" overshadowing everything. Wise authorial choice, in my opinion. Brava!

Gotta say, William seemed just as flummoxed as Xander did when Anya presented his son way-back-when in Connor's hall!

Author's Response: In honesty I couldn't see William waiting for the formal welcome when Buffy was only just across a river and there was a ford right there:) I wanted him to go to the wedding nowing that Buffy truely loved him and had kept faith, just as he had....I didn't want there to be a chnace of any misunderstandings.. glad you liked it. more soon
