I cannot believe I just lost my review...totally sucks. You'd think I would know to copy it before trying to post jus in case. Oh well, nothing I can do know except rewrite it.
Really glad that Buffy and Spike finally talked, even though it was awkward and whatnot. You had me worried there for a bit. Happy that they are making some headway, even though its slow.
And...BAD XANDER! Shame on him for jumping to conclusions about people without knowing the truth behind their actions. Not that I would expect anything other than that from him. Big pooh-head! Really happy to see that Buffy isn't letting his opinions make up her mind about Spike.

Author's Response: *lol* So far I think most reviews for this chap seems to say the same thing: Xander=Ass. Which is exactly what I was going for here. I had some problems with Xander in the show for the way he treated Spike, but in my stories I've always written him as the Good Guy. Xander just lends a grand example to the term "Dickhead", doesn't he? As far as Buffy's concerned, he just can't seem to think with anything else. But then, again, there's the saying "it takes one to know one"...and not only in the dickhead venue. My guess would be Xander and Spike recognise something in each other, are perhaps members of the mutual club of survivors (term used loosely) of child abuse/molestation/incest, given the insinuations usually garnered about X's relationship with his parents/father.
Very interesting how you bring "canon" principles into this setting, and steep them into these characterizations.
Enjoying it (topic matter, always a sad thing) and looking forward to updates.

Hi there Pet. I love your stories but this one hits close to home with what Spike went through and the person who he is today because of what happened to him as a child.
I can totally understand why he doesn't want sex. Not being able to let someone get close to you and be intimate with someone in more ways than one. It is a hard thing to deal with.
My heart aches for Spike.
Buffy is going to need patience with him. I can't wait to read how Buffy gets Spike to open up.

God, what a jerk. he's just judging spike on some stupid rumors, he doesn't even know anything about him. i hate people like that, xander really needs to grow up, and to say that she must be sleeping with him, ugh. i'm glad spike is at least trying, but he still needs a lot of work. i'm hoping for some happy spuffy in this one, even though i don't see that happening for a while.
