I've read the books (blood ties) and like the first one a lot (it will air here this year).
Mmmh now why do I think Buffy won't be the one promoted because she now will need the money from her new job ;-)

I clicked as soon as I saw your author name. And OH! Score 1 for Buffy!

I immediately have a bad feeling about her grabbing that apartment when she doesn't have the job, yet. That's really risky, and even stupid. She'll have to get a roommate just to pay the bill if she's stuck in the lease without a pay raise.

I've also worked in sales before, and man, can it be grueling!! Watch the movie "Boiler Room" for how nasty it can get on commission only.
