Well, this is defintly a hoot and a hollar of a tale. Love the name and it pretty much says it all about their relationship not only in this tale, but in canon as well (at least in my opinion). Love the "melting socks" reference.

This was my Sunday catchup read of choice and I'm sure glad I picked it. I had forgotten how often you make me laugh while reading your tales. I chuckled at least half a dozen times per chapter making my 17 yr old eye me with concern (evidently he thinks I might be senile, looking a my laptop screen and chortleing away radomly -- if only he knew).

The hot tub scene with the "questions" really tickled my fancy and I wonder if Buffy was just being silly drunk, or is she really that innocent? Either way, I though it was great and can't wait for Spike to use his high IQ to teach Buffy some big words?!!!

I love how you throw all the other "worthless males" into the tale and Spike's reaction to them. He's so cute actually treating Buffy so much better than any other female he's ever "dated" -- See Spike, sometimes if you get to know them first, they're worth a second go.

So, I'm a little rusty on my reviewing and will hopefully get back into the swing soon cause that's part of the fun for me, read the tales and if I like them, review them and of course it's a big hoot if you get a response back too (kinda like the bonus part of a DVD).

However, I know your wonderful Hubby is back in town and you must make the most of that so I won't be offended if you don't respond. With all he does for our country, he deserves your undivided attention and full family time when he's here.

YAY, I'm beyond flattered and so hapy you enjoy my sense of humor - I can't help but to try and make people laugh, its my fav thing in the whole world. I just loved this chapter, the whole thing! But especially the ending. What Spike said IS completely true-- I'm a rather "touchy feely" person, and since my current relationship is long distance the few and far between times my boyfriend and I DO get to spend time together we can NOT stop touching. It's just something that offers comfort, whether it's from your family, friends, lover, etc. EYE like human contact. EYE thrive off of it. EYE can not imagine repressing those instincts for years, like silly Buffy! Hopefully Spike is really learning to let go of the "conquest" aspect of his pursuits and is going ot realize that he just wants HER!

Loved the chapter, sorry for the big ol' rant. :) Can not wait for more. And have happy happy fun love love time with your hubby!

Author's Response: Yes, it is true, he wasn't simply giving her a speech for the sake of holding onto her, and I think it was time for him to be rather nice about things instead of snarky for a change. LMAO on the EYE comment - but it is hard to suppress the need for touch and eye contact, it means more than words ever could. As for Spike, well, he still has a ways to go before he grows up enough to realize she's all he wants. Baby steps here, unfortunetly. This chapter was funny, but that last part was just beautiful. From the moment Spike opened his eyes I was practically holding my breath. What he said & the way he said...that was more intimate than if he'd just said "to hell with it" and done what he'd been wanting to since he first met her. You could almost here the click as the connection that was made between them in that moment.

He could have easily taken advantage of the situation, though Buffy would have slapped him for sure, but he knew and saw her nervousness and soothing her was more important to him in that moment. He does have a heart, its just that he's young and has to learn a few valuable lessons first. I'm thrilled you enjoyed the chapter and in particular that scene, I enjoyed writing it. Wow, a rational suggestion from Mr. Horny.....yet, it does sound like something an intellignet player would memorize to put girls at ease.
They're like cymbals - inevitable to crash together and share the same space. Poor Buffy, LOL. I can definitely relate to the nasty burn.

Love him taking care of her. Really makes her have to re think some of her ideas about him. And convincing her to sleep in his arms. That was pretty adorable. Wonder how she's going to react when they get back home, to their real lives. Great chapter.
