Spike tossing Hank out of his own home was delightful, and the snapping of the riding crop was very dramatic. Buffy's reaction to him is warming with every chapter, though she's right she can't offer her whole heart with Angel still in the picture.

What could Hank have as a bargaining chip? Here's hoping Joyce can nip his leverage in the bud.

Author's Response: Thank you so very much! I'm glad you enjoyed those parts of the chapter and yes, Buffy is warming to Spike, but again she's too stubborn to accept that what she's beginning to feel for him is much more than she ever felt for Angel. Go figure. ;)

I love Spike getting rid of Hank, but it could lead to trouble. I don't think there will be an easy path to this wedding, on anyone's part.

Spike is proving himself more and more....and hee hee, Buffy still thinks she's going to marry Angel. Angel, whom she hasn't had word from or knows exactly where he is. Where would she run *to* if Angel isn't even back before the wedding?

I'm glad Joyce got to enjoy herself so much.

Spike in protector mode seriously kicked ass and taought Hank a lesson. Though I may be scared of what way that horrid man is thinking of seeking revenge in, I think it'll be by revealing Buffy is not his daughter, which I hope will turn out to be more of a blessing as far as Spike is concerned than a reason to break off the marriage!

Loved it. I don't see Hank ever getting the better of Spike but it seems he could cause havoc by trying and I assume he is not Buffy's biological father - is that someone we know? The lady does protest too much about not marrying Spike and is Buffy mad, the man likes to shop. She should snap him up quick!! Cannot wait for more - please.

I like that Spike and Buffy are getting closer, even though she's still thinking of Angel I'm feeling hopeful that things will work out. Loved the Spike/Hank scene, it was especially nice to see Spike use the crop against Hank. Gotta say I'm worried about Hank's future retaliation though, that man is definitely dangerous. Can't wait for Joyce's upcoming talk with Spike. Great chapter! :D

WOO HOO for Spike getting Hank to leave - bastard. I don't care what Hank thinks he has up his sleeve, I have faith in your SPike he'll take care of him again. - love the cane snapping, mmmmm, delicious manly, angry Spike. ANd what's this? Buffy is seeing him differently now but still declares her love for Angel? Me thinks the lady is crazy, LOL. Loved the shopping excursion and especially Joyce's character in all this.
