You did an excellent job conveying Buffy's jumbled emotions. She's attracted to Spike, and it's driving her a little mad. It's delightful. Wes should just give up. Spike and Fred are maneuvering him masterfully. He doesn't stand a chance either. Spike's conversation with him couldn't have gone better. I'm looking forward to his reaction to the Earl of Harlich's arrival.

A-HA... Buffy actually questioned - even if momentarily - her love for Angel, hee hee. Anf ohhhhhhh boy - is Wes actually jealous? *snickers* - looks like SPike's quick mind has come up with the perfect ploy - luv it. I just love that you made Spike and Fred brother and sister and left Dru out of it completely -- very refreshing. I also love the duel love stories -- so sweet. I just read all 12 chapters in one sitting and can only sit some more and hope for a new chapter soon!
Author's Response: Hee, I think them being siblings has been one of my favorite parts of writing this story. They seem to work quite well together. And no worries, there'll be no Dru in this story. I spent some wonderful time with your fic today, reading through from chapter one. I'm hooked, plain and simple! I love the characters, the intrigue, the language. The one thing that I found distracting, though, was Spike's speech. You have him dropping consonants, which would indicate a lower class accent. If he were a Duke, his speech would be more refined. But like I said, I'm hooked and am looking forward to reading more! Thanks!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review! I'm glad you've enjoyed the story so far. About Spike's speech though, well, he's a Duke yes, but as you must know there are very different dialects in Great Britain depending on the region. Each of those have different accents, it doesn't matter if they're low class or as in Spike's case, noblemen. Hope that makes sense to you. Thank you again for giving my story a chance!

I loved how Spike left his imprint all over Buffy. ;) And I'm liking this look at Spike in big-brother mode, his plan is very clever... things should get really interesting and tense when Alasdair arrives. Fantastic chapter!
