I don't know how I could have possibly missed this story the first time 'round, but thoroughly glad that you updated and that I got to read 5 chapters straight-through.

I love stories with older/younger Spike/Buffy in whatever amalgamation because there is something inherently flawed of both characters. Their individual weaknesses fuel their desires for each other. In this case, we get to see the aftermath of Spike’s uncontrollable lust leading to poor decision-making when it comes to protection; Buffy’s youth leads to ginormous insecurity and her inability to listen to any explanation for Spike.

Seeing as how Buffy will be staying with Spike for 2 weeks, they do have the time to figure things out. The Angel-problem will only add to the inevitable complication of a real relationship working out between the two of them in this scenario. I’m looking forward to the next installment.


Author's Response: Wow, many thanks for your very kind words. I think you're right about them being very flawed and the age difference is a great factor in everything here. Spike's guilt over the whole deal didn't allow him to see how Buffy might sense of his reaction. And her youth and immaturity, didn't allow her to think that there might be another reason other than him regretting what happened. But, at the same time, that same youth might play in Spike's favor when the time for talking comes.

Buffy shouldn't have jumped to conclusions and just talked it out with Spike. Can't wait to read more!
