Okay....I am feeling robbed here!!! This is definitely a story that could have gone to 20 chapters at least!!!! Loved the adventure and the world you created. Here's hoping that Buffy wakes up and realizes that Spike is 'family'...her family. If the Scoobies don't understand, then it's time to start questioning whether or not they are 'true' family if they put their ideas, preconceptions and feelings ahead of Buffy's. I dread tomorrow and yet can't wait to see what happens.
Rev up the computer because I want another story soon! Yep, I'm a bossy bint **grins**
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! It's my first try at a longer story and I was truly nervous that it wouldn't work and people might find it boring. I'm so glad you like it! I'll be writing more for sure!

OMG THATS SOOOOOOOOO SAD, I CANT BELIEVE HE LEFT AND THAT SHE DIDNT SAY IT BACK!! i LOVE this story and am so happy that u updated. i cant believe that he told her he loves her and that she just let him go. that was amazing twist and a good revenge for the dragon, i wish that he had taken the ring though. i REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope that buffy goes after spike and admits that she loves him. also i hope that everything works out and that they end up together and happy. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE update as soon as u can, im DYING to read more. THANX

It's good that the story is so long; it takes times till it's over (but sadly we're nearing us the end *pout*)
Tariess is one of the few leaders that thinks so. And in a battle, one leads from the front, not the back. But I think his people (soldiers) admire him for that.
And I'm happy for them both, enjoying their time together. It' 'easier' there for them, no pressure from the Scoobies &Co.
I didn't understand the meaning of the scale first. So they can go back earlier? Really kind of a revenge because Buffy wants to go back but not Spike. So bittersweet when Spike declared his love to Buffy but she didn't (couldn't) answer him. Well she couldn't have stayed forever there but still, sad.
Sad end of the chapter; indeed it will be only Spike that has to face (and live) with the consequence, not Buffy. Him not taking the Gem should make her thinking.
Now it's up to hear how it will end.
I hope she will come back to her senses.
Sadly I have to work again (and late too) tomorrow. Will look out for an update then. Hopefully for an happy end.

The scale stores power. The dragon gave it to Buffy as the best revenge on Spike that he could think of.

I just found this story and have mixed feelings - I'm happy that I found it when it is almost complete but at the same time I'm freaking out because it's almost complete! Loving it!
You have captured the closeness/camaraderie between Spike and Buffy so well, and that's what makes it so much more painful to see them separate once back in Sunnydale. If the fact that Spike turned down the Gem doesn't tell Buffy what a "good" vampire he can be for her, then she is truly clueless. Looking forward to the final chapter!
