Nice start. Maybe a bit over-the-top on saying how important Buffy is to him, but then again Spike is a writer at heart, so maybe not. Intriguing enough that I'll scope out another chapter when it comes along.

Author's Response: Hmm interesting. I think the pouring out of his heart is really shaped by the fact he thinks he's going to die. I don't doubt by the end of AtS Season 5 he still loved Buffy. And regarding how important she was and is to him - well, he completely changed who he was for her, got his soul for her. I don't really think there's a way to completely exaggerate how much Buffy means to Spike - we've already seen how important she is to him in the series. But yeah, the writer in him is coming out and Spike always was one for big gestures and poetic declarations. Look at how much he gave to Cecily in his poetry without even understanding love and compare it to how he felt about Buffy. To actually have that true emotion, that powerful love for him to tap into, I think that would lead to big declarations. Thanks for reading!
