Great chapter. I'm glad that Hank's not taking Buffy away from Sunnydale, not something she needs. The only idea I can think of for this story is maybe have Spike's dad show up in some way, other than just being an unheard voice on the other line. Just a thought. lovely story. You love your baby ones don't you? haha....I'm glad Hank is not taking her away, he realized that Buffy would just hate him more if he did. He can't be selfish at a time like this and put his needs first...some fathers do that. I think its a bit symbolic that Hank and Buffy end up where they are...two people who made mistakes sharing the same house....guess they can relate to each other again.
Input: Could have Buffy conversing with Dawn a bit...practice her mothering on this kid, but at the same time have that torn feeling about how this child was the cause to all Buffy's problems to start with. Maybe if Buffy warms up to Dawn, Spike can too...would be fun to have him play 'Big Brother Spike'.
Hope this music career can be something big too...Spike seems in the dumps and needs some confidence in himself so he can take care of his girl and baby.
Author's Response: Thank you! I really enjoy baby stories, and there just aren't enough Spuffy baby fics. I love reading them, because I like putting Spike in the position of 'daddy'. :)
I think you're spot on about Buffy and Spike. Despite the hurt he caused their family, and the guilt he's most likely gonna feel for leaving and this happening, he's still her father, and he's really the only family she's got left, aside from Spike and Dawn.
Thanks for your input, too! I'm already thinking about a meeting between Dawn and Buffy. My idea is to put Spike and Buffy in a position where they'll be playing house. With Hank's job, he's going to be at work a lot, and while Dawn'll be in school (she's kindergarten age) she'll still need adult supervision...and there's where Buffy and Spike come in.
And the music is definitely going to be a bigger plotline for Spike. :)

You are right about Spike being more of a supporting character right now, but that is what he is the supportive soon father to be. That is because all this is happening to Buffy centrally. I personally don't mind it, it just Works for the story you are telling at this point, and as the story goes on you can Shift it to spuffy centered family oriented...If that makes any sense at all lol.
Oh and what is Spike's fathers name...Giles maybe? Or just an unnamed arsehole..and what about Spike's mother and step mother..just some questions floating around my head, not really important questions, just curious questions.
Author's Response: Thanks! I haven't quite settled on the sex of the baby, but I'm pretty sure I know what I'm gonna decide. Not telling though. I like the name Jake, but it brings up too many bad memories from older fan fictions from another fandom I used to write, and the character of Jake was usually the bad guy. Haha...:)
Thanks for your honesty about Spike's character. The story's definitely going to take on a more family-centered feel very soon. Actually as soon as the next chapter, when we'll see some development in the mending between Buffy and her dad and introducing little Dawnie properly to her sister.
Spike's father isn't Giles in this. I think I'll reveal his name in the next chapter. He's just a character...not one from the show. I thought about having a character be his father, but I figured that Giles is often Spike's father in fan fics, as is Ethan Rayne, so I figured, eh, he'll just be a normal guy. LOL...:)

Author's Response: Yeah, I think Hank's trying to play it safe right now, so he doesn't lose what relationship he has left with Buffy. I'm sure he's gonna have his issues with their relationship down the road, but he won't really be able to do anything about it.

Not a good turn of events for Buffy.
Buffy isn't an adult in the eyes of the law. I hope Hank won't do something regarding Buffy what she doesn't want. Or she just has to become an adult in the eyes of the law (I'm not sure how it's called). (Remember Roswell, the TV Series?)
I don't think that marry Spike would make a difference. But maybe Hank won't act without considering Buffy's wishes.

Wow, this story seems to be all about Buffy. Spike just seems to only be there to support Buffy. Buffy parents getting a divorce, buffy having a new sister, buffy getting pregnant, buffy's mom getting killed. I'm not putting down the story. But to me it does seem like Spike is only there to support her and not really have his own story line other than being there for Buffy. Again, not putting down your story. I am still loving it. On the plus, at least Spike is written to be such a sweet and supporting boyfriend. One of the things that I love most about Spike on the show is that he will do anything for his women.

wow, you're really not giving buffy a break at all in this, are you? i didn't realize there would be so much angst when i started reading it, so i'm not sure how i feel, but i seriously hope angel dies a painful death. i fucking hate morons who drink and drive, and only get away with a few injuries, it's not fair. now i'm worried that buffy won't have a choice but to go live with her dad, there's still the baby to think about, though.

angel is really pissing me off, what the hell is that jerk's problem? why can't he just leave them alone? a part of me was hoping the prick would have gotten into a car accident and died, and i can't say i feel all that bad for drusilla. she's a moron for choosing to be with him in the first place, so she deserves everything she gets. i just wish spike didn't care about what happened to her, that could cause problems for him and buffy later on. i can't remember, but i'm assuming giles is spike's dad, if that's the case, i'm a little disappointed in him. he's usually a decent father in fictions, so it's weird seeing him like this, i hope he would come to his senses soon.
